In Permafrost, the Hybrid clothing set has five pieces. Make them at the Tailoring Bench using Cloth and Treated Hide. The recipes are granted together as a main-story quest reward. You can make Treated Hide at a Tanning Rack using animal pelts and Animal Fat, or buy it from The Mule.
Quick answer: During Breaking the Radio Silence, open the “Quest reward” box on the floor before Anna in the church to get all five recipes. Make the pieces at the Tailoring Bench using 36 Cloth and 17 Treated Hide.
Unlocking the Hybrid recipes in Breaking the Radio Silence
All five Hybrid recipes unlock at once through the main quest Breaking the Radio Silence. The quest reward box unlocks all five Hybrid recipes.

After you unlock the recipes, the quest tracker displays five crafting objectives. Its first entry is “Craft Utility Boots”, although the unlocked recipe and the resulting item are both called Hybrid Boots. You will not find a distinct Utility Boots recipe at the bench. Making all five Hybrid items completes the objectives, after which the quest advances to “Ask Anna about the next tower”.
The Tailoring Bench itself comes from an earlier story reward (out of Skinwalker’s box at Hunter’s Glade), so make sure you already have it placed before you start gathering materials.

Each piece uses only Cloth and Treated Hide. The totals below are what you need in your own inventory before you queue everything up.
| Piece | Cloth | Treated Hide |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | 2 | |
| 6 | 3 | |
| 5 | 3 | |
| 11 | 5 | |
| 9 | 4 | |
| Total | 36 | 17 |
For extra Treated Hide, buy it from The Mule at 15 Bucks per piece. In a Survival world, the Horizon trader stocks both Treated Hide and Animal Fat. Animal carcasses also yield Animal Fat, Meat, and Bones.
Making Treated Hide at the Tanning Rack
Treated Hide is made at the Tanning Rack. Unlock its building blueprint for 2 blueprint points, then place the rack using the Building Tool in the building menu’s Utilities tab. Put it near the Tailoring Bench to keep both stations in one workspace.
Every tanning recipe takes one animal pelt plus 2 Animal Fat, with one exception: Treated Hide (Hare) needs two Hare pelts for the same two fat. Because the fat requirement is fixed at two per recipe, plan for double your pelt count in fat. Ten Moose Pelt, for example, calls for 20 Animal Fat.
| Recipe | Pelt | Animal Fat |
|---|---|---|
| Bison Pelt ×1 | 2 | |
| Boar Pelt ×1 | 2 | |
| Deer Pelt ×1 | 2 | |
| Fox Pelt ×1 | 2 | |
| Hare pelt ×2 | 2 | |
| Moose Pelt ×1 | 2 | |
| Muskox Pelt ×1 | 2 | |
| Wolf Pelt ×1 | 2 |

Crafting the Hybrid pieces at the Tailoring Bench
Once you have 36 Cloth and 17 Treated Hide with you, go to the Tailoring Bench. The materials must be in your inventory rather than stored in a chest, so retrieve them from storage beforehand.

Crafting all five pieces clears the quest objectives, including the mislabelled “Craft Utility Boots” line, and Anna then opens the follow-up about the next tower. That quest hand-off confirms the set is done.
Hybrid set stats and what it does for warmth
The Hybrid Boots, Gloves, Jacket and Pants tooltips each show COLD RES. 32. The armor and value differ by slot.
| Piece | Armor | Cold res. | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | 32 | 45 | |
| 3 | 32 | 63 | |
| 5 | 32 | — | |
| 4 | 32 | 87 |
After equipping them, check the STATISTICS panel for the per-slot changes. Replacing the Moon Cult jacket, pants, and boots plus the Tribal gloves with Hybrid gear changes all four slot readings from [-29°C] to [-32°C]. The overall snowflake shield also shifts, from [-30°C] to [-32°C].

The head-slot reading for a Wolf Head Hat is [-35°C], better than the Hybrid Hat’s, so keep the Wolf Head Hat equipped. You still have to craft the Hybrid Hat for the quest.
