Valor Mortis: How to Complete the Lullaby Quest

Find the Weathered Key and the toy in Fallen Village to quiet the crib and claim the Tomorrow's Promise amber.

Find the Weathered Key and the toy in Fallen Village to quiet the crib and claim the Tomorrow’s Promise amber.

Lullaby is a short side quest in Fallen Village, the chapter 3 region of Valor Mortis, and you can finish it in a single visit. It starts with a bloodstained crib and the sound of a baby crying inside an abandoned house, and it ends when you track down a toy and place it in that crib. William walks away with an amber for the trouble.

Quick answer: Start the quest at the crib near the Marketplace Lantern, grab the Weathered Key from the garden behind the house, use it on the locked house across the broken bridge to collect the toy, then return and place the toy in the crib.

Where to start the Lullaby quest in Fallen Village

Make your way to the Marketplace Lantern in Fallen Village. From there, continue straight, then turn left into the nearby home with its door shut. Open the door to find a bloodied crib, with a baby’s cries coming from it.

Move deeper into the building, into the adjoining room with the portraits, and interact with the glowing marker to officially begin Lullaby. Until you pick up that trigger, the quest will not appear in your objectives.

Weathered Key location

In the garden just behind the quest house, infected villagers guard the Weathered Key lying on the ground. This aged key unlocks the house where the toy is kept.

Continue through the house and out the rear doorway into the back alley and garden.
Take out the foes gathered around the glowing loot drop. Two villagers are ahead of you, while another will charge in from behind, so stay on the move and keep an eye on your flank.
Pick up the Weathered Key from the corner of the garden.

Where to find the toy

The toy is tucked away in a locked house across the water, and the Weathered Key is the only way in. Backtrack toward the Marketplace Lantern, or fast travel there, and follow the route below.

Dark Lantern menu with three buttons over a blurred forest scene with a rusty lamp post.
The Lantern menu offers the options Level Up, Upgrade Ferrofluid Flask and Leave.
From the lantern, go back through the broken carriage where you picked up the Blunderbuss, then turn right.
Push through the villagers along the side street. There is a Volunteer carrying a large weapon that you can fight or slip past, along with ordinary villagers you can either clear for Catalysts or ignore.
Keep going until you reach the broken bridge, then cross the wooden platforms to the far side and approach the lone house in the distance.
Unlock the door with the Weathered Key. You will see the prompt confirming the door was opened with it. Head to the back room and grab the toy resting on the bed.

Quiet the crib and claim Tomorrow’s Promise

Return to the first house with the bloody crib, fast traveling to the Marketplace Lantern if you want to save the walk. Interact with the crib to place the toy inside. The crying stops, the Lullaby quest marks as complete, and you receive currency along with the Tomorrow’s Promise amber.

Tomorrow’s Promise changes the Ferrofluid Flask so it restores Health gradually instead of instantly. Using a second flask before the effect expires won’t extend its duration; it resets the timer to its starting value.

Tomorrow’s Promise can also be found elsewhere in Valor Mortis. Picking up a second copy of the same amber raises it to the next tier rather than wasting the duplicate.

If you leave Fallen Village before wrapping this up, nothing is lost. Travel back to the Marketplace Lantern whenever you like and finish the remaining steps, since the key, the house, and the crib all stay where they are.
