PS5 timing has a two-hour conflict

The October 15 PS5 release carries the PS5 Pro Enhanced designation. Keen’s launch map explicitly places PlayStation 5 at 15:00 UTC, whereas the PlayStation Store lists 17:00 UTC, or 1:00 PM Eastern.

Keen Games launch map15:00 UTC
PlayStation Store17:00 UTC

Since both sources are first-party, check PS5 at 15:00 UTC as the first step. Should the game remain locked, look again at 17:00 UTC, the time shown by the store. PS5 allows offline play for one person or online sessions with up to eight players; online play needs a PlayStation Plus subscription.

Steam, Xbox, and who needs to buy it

For Steam players on PC, 15:00 UTC is the target, when Early Access ends. Version 1.0 is an upgrade, not its own product: current Steam owners receive the full release by updating their Enshrouded install, with no extra purchase.

Xbox Series X|S won’t be included in this launch; its version is planned for spring 2027, leaving Steam and PS5 as the only 1.0 platforms. Cross-platform play is also unavailable at launch: PC and PS5 players can’t share a world. Keen continues working on crossplay, but has announced no window.

Neither platform has announced a preload. PC players already have the Early Access version installed, so expect an update on launch day, not a new full-game download. On PS5, purchase and download the game after it unlocks.

What to do before launch if you played Early Access

Early Access saves remain usable, but 1.0 will convert them on first load to a newer and more efficient format. Keen recommends creating a fresh world instead: the studio reworked large portions of the map and opening hours, and a new save is the best way to experience the redesigned early game.

Your skill tree resets the first time version 1.0.0.0 loads. Redistribute every point before leaving your base. Early Access players also receive three decorative rewards; once 1.0 is live, redeem them using Redeem Add-Ons in the Escape menu.

Keen has not published migration notes, so copy your save folder before the update as a backup. Server hosts should read the 1.0 changelog before restarting, and players need the matching 1.0 build to avoid a version mismatch.

What arrives with Enshrouded 1.0

The 1.0 update completes the Embervale world map and brings the current storyline to a conclusion. A new biome, Cinder’s Cradle, sits north of Veilwater Basin and adds a volcanic region of floating islands built around vertical exploration. Two new Hollow Halls open as well, one in Albaneve Summits and one in Veilwater Basin.

  • Character level cap raised to 50, with equipment upgrades reaching level 55.
  • Nine new mage spells plus eternal, upgradeable variants, new summons, and a reworked ranged combat setup.
  • Sparkworks, a logic framework for operating switches, pressure plates, traps, timers, and player-built contraptions.
  • A new “brick renderer” for more detailed distant terrain and buildings, HDR support, and lower memory use.
  • Voiced lore and crafter and quest-giver survivors in English, German, and Mandarin Chinese.
  • Quality-of-life additions including Airborne Architect for flying around your base while building, auto-loot, and in-place chest upgrades.

PS5 and PS5 Pro owners get a 60 fps Performance Mode and a 30 fps Quality Mode, with the Pro adding a dedicated 60 fps mode using PSSR 2.0, along with haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support. Co-op runs up to 16 players on PC and up to 8 on PS5.

Price at full launch

Enshrouded costs €39.99 / $39.99 on Steam and the PlayStation Store. The price rose by €10 on September 8, ahead of the 1.0 launch. A 10% launch discount runs on both platforms for the first 14 days, starting October 15 at 4 p.m. CEST. Existing owners keep the game and pay nothing extra to move into 1.0.

You will know the update has landed once Steam shows the 1.0 build downloading or your PS5 copy becomes playable at the unlock time. On an existing PC save, the skill tree reset on first load confirms you are in version 1.0.0.0.
