There Is Only War is the shorter of the two mini-campaigns Boltgun 2 opens up after the Arkifane Emerges missions, swapping the rot of the Nurgle route for three levels of trench warfare, an Imperial munitions depot, and a Chaos-held city. Every level packs a run of hidden secrets plus a single Purity Seal, and a couple of them hand you useful gear well before the game would otherwise.
Quick answer: The path hides 17 secrets and three Purity Seals across its three levels, and none of them are missable — you can mop up anything you skipped through Level Select.

How collectibles work on this path
Every level in Boltgun 2 has one Purity Seal and a set of secrets, and together they feed the game-wide trophies and achievements for finding all of them. There Is Only War is path B of the campaign’s first split, so it unlocks after Dauntless when you pick it over the Nurgle Nightmare route.
- Nothing here is permanently missable — any finished level is added to Level Select.
- Collectibles only save when you complete the level, so finish the run after grabbing them.
- Machine Spirit pickups upgrade whatever weapon you’re holding, so swap first if you care which one.
- To unlock everything, the other path stays locked until a fresh campaign, where you pick it instead.

Add to Google Preferences →The Trenches secrets and Purity Seal
The Trenches is an open map full of killzones watched by unkillable snipers, and you’ll push a heretic position alongside a squad of Kriegsmen. There are four secrets and one seal here.
| Collectible | Reward |
|---|---|
| Secret 1 | Emperor’s Visage |
| Secret 2 | Munitions Boon |
| Secret 3 | Machine Spirit |
| Secret 4 | Aura of Doom |
| Purity Seal | Purity Seal |
Secret 1: Push up to the fortress entrance and climb to the top, where a pair of storage tanks sits. Follow the trench to its far end to grab the Emperor’s Visage. Don’t step past the trench line, or the snipers outside will drop you instantly.
Secret 2: From here, stay on the main route until stairs on your right bring you up out of the trenches. Outside, find a dugout fortification; the pickup is inside. A panel nearby unlocks the door leading back to the fortress entrance. Snipers can still hit you here, so hurry.
Secret 3: Continue until you come to a ruined forest teeming with Daemonettes. Search the area’s right-hand side for a Machine Spirit for your weapon.
Purity Seal: Use the red key to open the large bunker, then eliminate everyone inside. From the main entrance, follow the hall straight ahead. At its end are a box and a couple of platforms; the seal rests on the highest one.
Secret 4: At the giant artillery cannon, check the open storage container next to the cannon’s control panel. The Aura of Doom inside sharply raises your damage output.

Grab the Aura of Doom before you clear the heretics, not after, so you actually get value out of it.
Munitions Mayhem secrets and Purity Seal
Munitions Mayhem runs you through an Imperial munitions depot toward a missile silo, and it’s easy to blast past everything and miss the lot. There are eight secrets and one seal, including the path’s early weapon unlock.
| Collectible | Reward |
|---|---|
| Secret 1 | Machine Spirit |
| Secret 2 | Frag Cannon and ammo |
| Secret 3 | Emperor’s Visage |
| Secret 4 | Grenade Boost |
| Secret 5 | Munitions Boon |
| Secret 6 | Assault Doctrine |
| Secret 7 | Infinite Ammo |
| Secret 8 | Aura of Doom |
| Purity Seal | Purity Seal |
Secret 1: Right as you spawn, follow the tunnel to the grated-off exits at the end, then turn around. A skull is wedged between the large munitions — shoot it to raise a grate, then head down the opened tunnel for a Machine Spirit.
Secret 2: After the first Purge, stay on the main path up to the upper level the cultists were firing from. At the top of the ramp, turn left to find an interactable wall hiding a Frag Cannon and ammo. This is the early weapon unlock on the path.
Secret 3: From the Frag Cannon wall, cross to the other side for a second interactable wall. Lift it to grab an Emperor’s Visage.
Secret 4: Carry on to the rocket silo. Jump onto the beam nearest the exit and look left — the Grenade Boost sits on the beam just below.
Purity Seal: Push along the main route to a loading depot and gun down the horde there. A Valkyrie is parked in the hangar by the elevator, and the seal is inside it.
Secret 5: Before leaving the depot, head to the garages with the parked Leman Russ tanks and climb the rocks onto the roof for a Munitions Boon.
Secret 6: On the train track in front of that roof, an open storage container holds the Assault Doctrine pickup.
Secret 7: In the final arena, a jump pad appears in front of the two command consoles you need to activate. Ride it to the isolated platform for Infinite Ammo.
Secret 8: After picking up Infinite Ammo, veer right and descend to the bottom, then follow the path to the door at its end. Wait for heretics to open it and go inside. Interact with the center of the wall facing the entrance to get an Aura of Doom.

Chaos in the City secrets and Purity Seal
Chaos in the City drops you into a ruined, Chaos-occupied city with a Kriegsmen detachment. It’s shorter than Munitions Mayhem but far more densely packed with enemies, and it holds five secrets and one seal.
| Collectible | Reward |
|---|---|
| Secret 1 | Emperor’s Visage |
| Secret 2 | Feel No Pain |
| Secret 3 | Grenade Boost |
| Secret 4 | Machine Spirit |
| Secret 5 | Dragonfire Boltgun magazine |
| Purity Seal | Purity Seal |
Secret 1: Fight through the main route until you obtain the red key, then unlock the building marked with the Imperial Aquila. Head to the second floor, spot the hole in the wall, and jump through it onto the catwalk to claim an Emperor’s Visage.
Secret 2: Go to the building’s highest floor and open the doors leading onto a broken bridge. Cross the gap and enter the next doorway. Before dropping into the arena, leap onto the damaged pillar on the opposite side, then jump into the room beyond. A Feel No Pain pickup is beside a dead Ultramarine.
Purity Seal: Eliminate the Daemonettes in the lower arena, then enter the next area’s large battlefield and defeat the heretics. Find the ruined building and jump inside via the broken pillar. Leap across the gap to the rubble beside a large statue, turn around, and jump through the opening in the wall to reach the seal.
Secret 3: In the next open area, a giant fire pit sits to your right, and further right is a destroyed statue with a Grenade Boost tucked behind it. The jump to the statue base is fiddly — spam the jump button to make it.
Secret 4: Stay on the main path past a large group of heretics into a building interior. You’ll reach a door opened by a nearby console; before pressing it, turn back and climb onto what’s left of the ceiling. Hop the ledges to the corner for a Machine Spirit, and brace for a Daemonette ambush.
Secret 5: In the Chaos fortress at the end of the mission, climb the building to the third floor, where statues stand by a broken wall. Go through the wall and keep going to a ledge that leads outside, then turn left and round the corner for some health and Faith plus a Dragonfire Boltgun magazine.

Once you’ve collected everything in a level, finish the run to lock it in — the collectibles only save on completion, and your counter will tick up to confirm each find as you grab it. When you want the rest of the game’s secrets, start a new campaign and take the Nurgle Nightmare path you skipped the first time.
