Qingzhou is the sixth explorable region in Where Winds Meet, added with the Version 2.3 update. Reaching it and revealing its map runs through a single Lost Chapter quest called “Away to Qingzhou,” which carries you from Qinghe across the sea and up the slopes of Mount Tai. The map only opens once you reach the summit and speak with a specific person waiting there.

Quick answer: Hit Character Level 32, finish Chapter 1: Heaven Has No Pier, then start “Away to Qingzhou,” board the boat at Buddha Fort, climb Mount Tai, and talk to the Wayfarer at the summit to clear the map fog.

Requirements to reach Qingzhou

Two progression checks gate the region. You cannot start the travel quest until both are met.

Finishing Chapter 1 is what makes the “Away to Qingzhou” quest appear. If you are rushing the main campaign, Level 32 usually lands within the first couple of hours of questing.

The region launched with Version 2.3, Friends From Afar, on October 15, 2026, alongside the Qingzhou – Eastern Peak area, the Waist Drum weapon, and the Inkbound Order sect.

Start the “Away to Qingzhou” quest

The quest lives under the Lost Chapter section of your quest menu, and it begins with a letter rather than a map marker. The invitation comes from the Inkbound Order, the scholarly sect based in the new region.

Open the quest menu and find “Away to Qingzhou.” Select Check Mail, which generates the letter in your inbox. Open the mail titled “Letter to All Wanderers” from the Inkbound Order to officially start the quest.

Track the quest. The objective updates to “Go to the dock,” pointing you toward the eastern coastline of Qinghe.

Sail from Qinghe to Qingzhou

Getting across the water is simple. The fastest staging point is Buddha Fort in Sundara Land, which drops you near the eastern pier.

Fast travel to Buddha Fort using the world map. From the landing spot, glide and travel toward the dock on the eastern coast.

Walk up to the wooden skiff and use the Board prompt. Your character takes the oars automatically, and a boat cutscene plays as you cross the sea overnight to Qingzhou.
Disembark at Cloudside Village. Landing unlocks the Cloudside Village teleport point immediately and grants early exploration rewards.

Climb Mount Tai to the summit

From Cloudside Village the route is a straight climb up Mount Tai. Along the way you meet three porter brothers, Shan Fu, Shan Tian, and Shan Yao, who offer paid lifts. You can walk the whole way or accept their lifts to skip sections.

In Qingzhou, you need the regional token and sufficient exploration progress before Wallstride becomes available, so the cliffs are out of reach by direct climbing early on.

Take the waypoint out of Cloudside Village and follow the mountain trail uphill. Just outside town, Shan Fu is seated on a stone. Speak with him, say you can manage on your own, and keep climbing.

Keep climbing until the screen starts to distort. This is the “Inferno Assault: Tier 1” heat effect, which intensifies to Tier 2 higher up. It is part of the ascent and does not stop you from progressing.

Speak with the Daoist Zuo Dao seated in the middle of the stairs, then ask Shan Tian to help you up. After the cutscene, choose Quick Flight to be tossed up the mountain toward the Wudafu Pine Boundary Stone.

Use the Boundary Stone to activate the Wudafu Pine teleport point. Ascend until you reach Shan Yao, talk to him, and request one more Quick Flight to get near the peak.
Climb the final staircase to the Southern Heavenly Gate and pass through the archway. A welcoming cinematic plays, showing the people of Qingzhou greeting you, and you unlock the achievements “How Stands Mount Tai?” and “The First Brushstroke” as you enter the summit plaza.

Unlock the Qingzhou map

Reaching the top by itself does not reveal the map; it is given to you there. On the summit terrace, find the Wayfarer beside Master Goose and a hawk looking out over the cliff.

Speak with the Wayfarer to receive his map. This starts the fog-clearing animation, uncovering the entire Qingzhou regional map, including the Eastern Peak outline. When the dialogue ends, “Away to Qingzhou” is complete and the region is open for free exploration.

You know it worked when the summit fog lifts across the mini-map and the world map, and the quest closes out with its rewards, which include Qingzhou Exploration progress, Commerce Coin, Enlightenment Points, Character EXP, Coin, and the Hometown Courier quest item. From here, the Eastern Peak subregions, from Wellspring Town to the coast, are yours to chart.
