Polaris Patrol flips the usual extraction setup in Delta Force. Instead of raiding Haavk as a G.T.I. operator, you step behind their security line and play as Director Anais Desmoulins, defending Space City against the same operators you normally run with. Before you can select her, you have to clear a story-driven gate that most players run into on their first visit to the mode.

Quick answer: At Operations Level 33, go to Polaris Patrol and open Desmoulins’s File. Finish all missions in any 3 of the 5 categories to enable the “Play as Desmoulins” option on the lobby screen.

Requirements to unlock Desmoulins

Two separate unlocks apply here, and they do different things. Completing Desmoulins’s File unlocks the identity itself, so you can pick her at all. A separate entry item lets you actually deploy as her in a match.

  • Operations Level 33 is required before Desmoulins’s File opens.
  • Complete every task in any 3 of the 5 mission categories.
  • A Security Director’s Work Badge is spent each time you deploy as Desmoulins.
  • Playable on Space City (Normal/Hard) and AZ3 (Normal only, not Easy).

The five mission categories in Desmoulins’s File

The file holds five task lines, each tied to a chapter of Desmoulins’s backstory. You only need to finish three of them, but every task inside a chosen category must be completed. Pick the three that suit your maps and playstyle.

CategoryRole trackTasks
Distant SurgeSecurity Director4
Orbital DriftDaughter5
Twin StarsPilot4
Polaris UnfallenAnais3
Above the CloudsMother5

Tasks fall into a few types: kill-based goals, item submissions, audio-clue reconstructions at fixed spots, and mission-item pickups. For example, Security Director – 1 asks you to kill 3 enemy soldiers with a marksman rifle, sniper rifle, or SMG. Pilot – 1 wants 3 kills in any AZ3 operation. Anais – 2 and Anais – 3 send you to specific interior locations in Space City.

Submission tasks are the fastest to clear, because the items do not have to be found in a raid. You can buy them off the Auction and hand them in right away.

How to open Desmoulins’s File

Choose START from the main menu, then pick Polaris Patrol in the extraction mode list.
Use Scout at the upper-right to access the Polaris Patrol hub.
Select Desmoulins’s File. You will see the five categories, the reward track, and the mission requirements for each line.

Buy submission items from the Auction to skip the grind

The Mother and Daughter lines each ask for three Blue-or-better collectibles. Rather than hunting them in raids, open the Auction tab and buy them outright, then return to the file to turn them in.

For Mother – 1, open the Auction and buy three Medical Stapler items from the medical category. They average around 7,246 each, or roughly 21,738 for the set of three.

Go back to Desmoulins’s File and submit the three Medical Staplers to Mother – 1 to claim the reward.
For Daughter – 1, buy three Household collectibles such as Chocolate from the Auction. Chocolate runs about 11,658 each, close to 34,974 for three.

Submit the three Chocolate items to Daughter – 1. Working the two submission-heavy categories this way leaves you only one more line to finish through raids.

Deploy as Desmoulins or ride in as a Guard

Finishing three categories unlocks Desmoulins. To play a match as her, use a Security Director’s Work Badge. Each badge costs 250,000 Tekniq Alloys at the Supply Station. You can keep 8 at most; 4 are available to you initially, and one purchase slot becomes available again every 21 hours.

You can also play without paying: Heavy Guard (Athos Leal) and Comms Guard (Aramis Orgueil), the two Adjutant roles, are unlocked from the start and require no badge. However, a Guard can only queue if someone in the squad is playing Desmoulins. To make the most of it, have one teammate use a badge and let the others join as free Guards.

Desmoulins’s kit is built around a Neural-Controlled Vehicle she deploys and drives remotely, backed by a Threat Imaging System that scans and marks enemies for the squad, a Seeker Bomb Vehicle that chases targets, and a Weakness Analysis trait that slows enemy armor repair and healing. Play it as a defense, not a deathmatch.

Losing the vehicle while you are driving it inflicts heavy neural-link damage on Desmoulins and gives away her position. Avoid taking it into combat without support from your squad.

Where to play and how to confirm the unlock

Pick a compatible map from the lobby — Space City on Normal or Hard, or AZ3 on Normal. Easy AZ3 does not support the boss role. With a valid map selected, check the Play as Desmoulins toggle next to the character display before you ready up.

You know the unlock worked when the toggle is selectable and the match starts with your appearance and abilities switched to Desmoulins. If you have not finished three full categories, the game blocks the ready-up with the prompt “Please complete the prerequisite mission first.” Guards see a matching notice telling them to squad up with a Desmoulins player.

What you earn through the Polaris Patrol track

Progress is scored on operation performance, which raises your Performance Rank and feeds the reward track. Leveling it awards crates, weapon attachments, avatar icons, and consumable packs along the way.

The sought-after red-quality collectibles are Petite Madame and Requin Model; owning both turns them into one display collectible. Playing this mode also awards the M700 Sniper Rifle – Serenity weapon appearance for free. G.T.I. operators can get in on the collectibles too: when they defeat Desmoulins under another player’s control, they can check the Desmoulins Mezzanine for a chance to find the same items.
