Where to buy the Apprentice Broom and Lava Broom, what they cost, and how their acceleration stats compare.

Brooms are the dedicated flight mounts in Wizard Alchemy, sold by fixed vendors for Coins. Two are currently in the game, each with its own acceleration profile and price point, and both function purely as travel tools with no combat or stat bonuses attached.

🧹
Quick answer: The Apprentice Broom costs 3,000 Coins under the portal at Departure Island beach. The Lava Broom costs 50,000 Coins to the right of the Alchemy area in the Sea of Oblivion.

Every broom and where to buy it

Both brooms are purchased outright with Coins from static vendor spots. There is no crafting path, drop chance, or quest requirement attached to either one. The Apprentice Broom is positioned as the early-game pick, while the Lava Broom sits behind a much larger Coin wall and a deeper progression gate.

Acceleration controls how quickly the broom builds speed when you hold forward. Max Acceleration is the ceiling that speed can reach. The Lava Broom roughly doubles both values over the Apprentice Broom, which translates to faster takeoffs and a higher cruise speed on long routes.

Apprentice Broom

The Apprentice Broom vendor is tucked underneath the portal that stands on the beach at Departure Island. Walk past the portal and drop down to the base to find it. At 3,000 Coins it is well within reach during early play, and it doubles as the practical way to reach the Sea of Oblivion portal that sits raised above the ground.

Stats sit at 10 acceleration and 35 max acceleration, which is enough to make ground dashing feel obsolete for cross-map runs even before any upgrade.

Lava Broom

The Lava Broom is sold just to the right of the Alchemy area inside the Sea of Oblivion, so you need to have progressed into the second zone to even reach the vendor. Its 25 acceleration and 50 max acceleration are a clear step up, and the Epic-tier design is the only cosmetic differentiator currently available for fliers.

At 50,000 Coins it is roughly 16 times more expensive than the entry option, so most players treat it as a mid-term goal rather than an immediate purchase.

Flight controls

Brooms slot into the hotbar like any other equippable item. Mounting and dismounting both use the same hotbar button, and forward movement maps to the same input you already use on foot.

Assign the broom to a hotbar slot from your inventory, then press that slot’s button to mount. Your character will lift off and begin hovering in place.
Aim with the mouse on PC, or use the D-pad on console and mobile. The broom flies in the direction your camera is pointing.
Hold W or D-pad forward to accelerate. Release the input to slow down gradually as momentum bleeds off.
To land, tilt your view toward the ground and keep holding forward until you touch down. Press the hotbar button again to dismount.

⚠️
There is no dedicated brake. Speed only drops when you release the forward input, so leave extra room when approaching a landing spot near a chest or vendor.

Which broom to buy first

Pick up the Apprentice Broom as soon as you can afford the 3,000 Coins. It is the cheapest way to stop relying on dash spam, and it is effectively required to reach the Sea of Oblivion portal in the first place. Treat it as a stepping stone rather than a long-term mount.

Save toward the Lava Broom once you are running materials and chests in the Sea of Oblivion. The jump from 35 to 50 max acceleration shortens every long-distance trip noticeably, which compounds quickly if you are farming bosses, chest routes, or alchemy ingredients across the second zone.

Neither broom changes combat power, so the choice is purely about travel time and rarity look. If you are still anchored to Departure Island, the Apprentice Broom is enough. If most of your play happens in the Sea of Oblivion, the upgrade pays for itself in saved minutes per session.
