Violet works best in Deadlock as a fast-farming tempo ganker who wrecks fights through control, not raw gun damage. This build stacks early vitality, scales on Golden Goose Egg, uses Shadow Weave and cooldown reduction for picks, and ends as a late-game tank. It doesn’t need sharp aim or advanced movement, which makes it a good fit for newer players.

Quick answer: Import Build ID 908943 from the in-game build browser. Buy Golden Goose Egg at 800 souls, then follow the queued items: vitality first, then Shadow Weave and cooldown reduction, then tank items.

Load the Violet build in Deadlock (Build ID 908943)

Open the hero build menu in Deadlock and go to the build browser. Switch to public builds.
Type the Build ID 908943 into the browser search. The build is titled with “FAST FARM Tempo Tanky Mobile Ganker.”
Favorite the build so it shows up as an option when you pick Violet. You’ll know it worked when the item path appears in your shop’s build tab during a match.

If public builds don’t show up, open Settings, go to Language, and set the alternate hero build language to English.

Violet item build order and costs

The path moves through five phases. Early items keep you alive and farming. Mid-game items power up Living Ink and set up stealth ganks. The last two phases push spirit breakpoints and then turn Violet into a frontline that’s very hard to kill. Transitional items get sold as the tank pieces arrive.

Early game: Golden Goose Egg and vitality

ItemCostPurpose
Golden Goose Egg800Long-term soul and buff scaling
Extra Health800Lane survival
Extra Stamina800Mobility
Sprint Boots800Roaming speed
Healing Rite800Sustain for Sinner’s Sacrifice

Golden Goose Egg comes first, as soon as you have 800 souls, usually after the first or second minion wave. Keep it until the 30-minute mark, when it hatches and grants its full tier-3 buffs along with bonus souls. Selling it early throws that payoff away. Healing Rite lands around minute six so you can absorb the health drain from Sinner’s Sacrifice machines when they open at minute eight.

Mid game: Shadow Weave and cooldown core

ItemCostPurpose
Monster Rounds800Jungle clear
Close Quarters800Close-range damage
Shadow Weave3,200Stealth gank opener
Extra Charge800Extra ability charges
Rapid Recharge2,400Faster charge refresh
Compress Cooldown1,600Cooldown reduction

Shadow Weave is the piece that makes Violet a ganker. Stealth lets you walk into a fight with Living Ink already loaded and drop your ultimate before anyone reacts. The charge and cooldown items exist to get Living Ink and Still Life back up as often as possible.

Tempo vitality and cooldown reduction

ItemCostPurpose
Fortitude3,200Health and sustain
Stamina Mastery3,200Mobility
Superior Cooldown3,300Cooldown reduction
Transcendent Cooldown6,400Cooldown reduction
Bullet Resilience3,200Gun damage defense
Spirit Resilience3,200Ability damage defense

Fortitude pairs with Healing Rite to keep Sinner’s Sacrifice runs safe. The two Resilience items give you defense against both gun-heavy and ability-heavy enemy teams.

Late game: Spirit scaling and tank finish

ItemCostPurpose
Escalating Exposure6,400Spirit damage scaling
Spirit Burn6,400Spirit damage scaling
Boundless Spirit6,400Spirit breakpoints
Colossus6,400Active tank tool
Cheat Death6,400Survival
Scourge6,400Damage and combo piece
Indomitable6,400Survival
Witchmail6,400Spirit defense

The three spirit items push Violet’s damage past key breakpoints. Colossus, Cheat Death, Scourge, Indomitable, and Witchmail then replace the cheaper transitional items. Colossus and Scourge are active items you pop during objective defense and late fights. Scourge also becomes part of the late-game gank rotation.

How Violet’s weapon and abilities work

Violet’s paintbrush, Creative Solutions, fires paint projectiles that travel in a straight line and deal splash damage. It scales with both spirit and weapon stats, which explains why the build mixes item categories instead of stacking pure gun damage.

Living Ink: Empowered shots

Pressing Living Ink turns your next three shots into homing missiles that deal splash spirit damage. Landing them on an enemy hero cuts your ability cooldowns, so every combo starts with Living Ink already active.

Living Ink: Draw mode walls

Right-clicking switches Living Ink to Draw mode, which paints ink walls that physically block projectiles, players, and creeps. Start the stroke far away and pull it back toward yourself, or the wall won’t stretch the right way. Walls soak up most ultimates, including Bebop’s laser, but heavy melee attacks break them. They’re your main escape tool when a fight goes bad.

These abilities go through or around drawn walls:

  • Dynamo Ult
  • Celeste Ult (If already bouncing)
  • Paige Ult
  • Rem Ult
  • Solomon 1 and 4
  • Venator Ult
  • Vindicta Stake
  • Viscous Puddle Punch / Splatter AoE
  • Yamato 3
  • Paradox 1

Flow State, Still Life, and Abstract Landscape

Flow State lays down a paint trail you glide along with bonus slide speed, unlimited ammo, and momentum that carries uphill. At tier 1 it also adds 150% stamina recovery. Press it a second time to flick paint in a cone in front of you for a little burst damage.

Still Life links to a hero in your line of sight and deals spirit damage while you channel. Finish the drawing and the target is stunned, plus a hero-specific sketch drops on the ground that grants a permanent stat boost. Dispel Magic wipes the channel out completely. Counterspell blocks the stun if the enemy times it on the last tick.

Abstract Landscape raises four huge paint walls in an arena shape. They block line of sight, and enemies who walk through them are silenced and damaged. While it’s up, Violet gains spirit power and spirit lifesteal.

Violet combos for lane, jungle, and ganks

Early lane combo

Pre-cast Living Ink (1) before the trade begins so your empowered shots are ready.
Cast Abstract Landscape (4) to box the enemy in.
Cast Still Life (3) on your target and hold the link.

Press Flow State (2) twice to fire off the cone flick.
Left-click three times, recast Living Ink, then left-click three more times to spend the second set of empowered shots.

Jungle farm rotation

Pre-cast Living Ink, then use line of sight to pull neutral mobs into one tight group so the splash hits all of them. Fire three shots, follow with a heavy melee, recast Living Ink, fire three more, and heavy melee again. Keep repeating until the camp is cleared.

Gank without cooldown reduction

Pre-cast Living Ink, activate Shadow Weave to go stealthed, and walk up on your target. Open with Abstract Landscape, lock them with Still Life, and then fire your Living Ink bursts.

Gank with cooldown reduction

Once you’re stacked with cooldown items, the rotation loops. Pre-cast Living Ink, go stealthed with Shadow Weave, and engage with Abstract Landscape. Pop Scourge, cast Still Life, and fire three shots. Then recast Living Ink, fire three more, and cast Still Life a second time. The reduced cooldowns let you repeat the cycle until the target dies.

Violet farming timings and priority

At the 3:00 mark, step out of lane for a moment and sweep the nearby buildings and alleys. Crates there drop bonus souls and golden jars with permanent stat boosts, and golden statues are worth grabbing along the way.

Sinner’s Sacrifice machines give souls and permanent stat buffs, and they come back every five minutes. They cost health to use, so lean on Healing Rite and later Fortitude to stay above water during the drain.

When several things need attention at once, work down this order:

  • Solo lane: farm and push
  • Sinners: the gold slot machines that give souls, gold, and stats
  • Jungle: crates, pots, and NPCs
  • Duo lane: farm and push
  • Ganks and team fights, but only when they’re nearby
  • Objectives: Rift, Walker, Urn, and Mid Boss

That fifth rule matters more than it seems. Crossing the whole map to bail out a teammate who’s already losing costs you farm and usually ends in another death. Violet earns her value by staying ahead on souls, picking off whoever wanders close, and showing up to late fights with Colossus and Scourge ready to go.
