The biggest visual change in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 is the island itself. Branded the Runners season, this update swaps the existing Battle Royale map for a reworked version called Shattered Coast, where the Zero Point split the sky and reassembled familiar areas into new shapes. Many points of interest have been fused with other locations, moved across the island, or given a fresh environmental theme, while several entirely new spots have been added.

Quick answer: The new map is Shattered Coast. Most old POIs return as remixed versions, a few stay in roughly the same place, and new locations include Cluster Coast, Heatwave Harbor, Sunken Shores, Sinister Strip, Frosted Flats, Lifty Lodge, and Chopped Shop. It goes live with the season on June 6, 2026.

What changed on the Shattered Coast map

Shattered Coast is a remix of the previous Chapter 7 island rather than a wholly original landmass. The story reason is the Shattered live event, which cracked the map apart and reassembled the pieces. Because of that, the geography is shuffled. Some POIs barely changed but sit in a different corner of the map, while others kept their location but switched biomes completely.

Two anchors stayed mostly in place. Sanctuary and Latte Landing held their rough positions, giving returning players a familiar reference point. Almost everything else moved. Wonkeeland is the clearest example of a relocation. It looks close to how it played in Season 2 but now sits in the northeast instead of the northwest.

Remixed POIs in Chapter 7 Season 3

The remixed locations keep their old names in modified form but change setting and layout. Battlewood became Battlewoods, trading its concrete, urban feel for a forest town, with the Battlewood Sign now fused into a wooded area. New Sanctuary became Shaken Sanctuary and shifted from a desert to a tropical setting, similar in feel to the old Sanctuary from Chapter 3.

New POIs on Shattered Coast

Alongside the remixes, the island adds a set of fresh drop spots. The new locations spread across different biomes, from coastal and tropical zones to a snowy stretch. The Zero Point also sits exposed at the center of a new tropical POI, replacing the old Dark Dominion, which makes it a likely hot drop early in the season.

How the new map ties into Sprites and extraction

The remixed island works alongside the season’s extraction system. Sprites appear in every match and must be secured at extraction points, where you survive a timer to exfil before the Sprite is added to your permanent collection. The new POIs and their layouts matter here, since extraction spots and chests are spread across the reassembled map.

Some map-related tools arrive later in the season rather than at launch. A Portable Extractor lets you extract a Sprite from anywhere on the island, a Lucky Locator points you to a buried chest holding a Sprite you have not collected yet, and an Extraction Site Booster calls in a crate that boosts any Sprite extracted there. A Bus Exfil mechanic is also planned for later, where the Battle Bus rifts back into the map, and teams can board it to secure a win.

Note: Items and mechanics labeled as coming later in the season are not part of the launch build, so they will not appear on the map on day one.

Shattered Coast goes live when the season launches on June 6, 2026, following the Shattered live event. With most of the island reorganized, the fastest way to learn the new layout is to drop on a remixed POI you already know, like Sanctuary or Latte Landing, then work outward toward the fresh spots such as Cluster Coast and Heatwave Harbor as you map out where the extraction points sit.
