The Dream Sprite is a Legendary sprite in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, the season also called Fortnite Runners. Instead of boosting your combat power, it hands you loot while you play. Each time it gains a level, it gives you a random item, and once it reaches its maximum level, it produces a burst of Legendary gear.
Quick answer: Equip the Dream Sprite, then open chests, eliminate opponents, and extract other sprites to level it up. At max level, it explodes with Legendary loot. Carry it to an Extraction Site and call in the canister to bank it into your Sprite Collection.

What the Dream Sprite does
The Dream Sprite rewards you with items as it climbs in level. Every level grants one random item, and the final level pays out a burst of Legendary loot. That makes it a loot engine rather than a fighting tool, so the value comes from keeping it equipped long enough to push it to the top.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Rarity | Legendary |
| Passive effect | Grants a random item at each level |
| Max level reward | Burst of Legendary loot |
| Inventory cost | Takes its own dedicated sprite slot when equipped |
Sprites gain experience from three activities while equipped. Opening chests counts as exploration, downing and finishing opponents counts as eliminations, and extracting other sprites at Extraction Sites also feeds progress. Keeping the Dream Sprite on you through the early and mid game is the quickest route to that Legendary payout.

Where to find the Dream Sprite
As a Legendary sprite, the Dream Sprite spawns at higher-tier spots and is harder to come across than the starter sprites. You can encounter it in several ways during a match.
- Walking around the island at random locations, where you can interact and pick it up.
- By chance when opening regular Chests, or guaranteed inside Sprite Chests found at POIs and in Vaults.
- Near Extraction Sites, where sprites can appear as you approach.
- Inside Storage Units at Battlewoods and in Sprite Vaults, which hold higher-rarity sprites.
To open a Sprite Vault, look for a Legendary Vault Keycard that drops from rare chests. The keycard unlocks the vault, which is one of the more reliable spots for higher-rarity sprites if you have not turned one up in the open world. Once you spot a Dream Sprite, press the interact button to stow it, and equipping it activates the passive effect.

How to extract and keep the Dream Sprite
Finding the sprite is only half the job. If you do not extract it or win the match while carrying it, you lose the sprite along with any leveling progress. Extraction banks it into your Sprite Collection so you can use it in later matches.
You also keep any sprite you are still holding when you win the round, so reaching a Victory Royale secures the Dream Sprite without a manual extraction.

How to confirm the Dream Sprite is unlocked
After a successful extraction, the Dream Sprite is saved to your Sprite Collection. From there you can summon a fresh copy before a match by spending Sprite Dust, either in the main lobby or on the end screen after a game. A summoned sprite starts back at level 1, so you rebuild its levels each match.
If the Dream Sprite shows up as a summon option in your collection, the extraction worked. The most common reasons players lose it are leaving the site before the canister fully lands or dying during the loud 30-second window. Plan the extraction when the area is clear, since the noise pulls other players toward your position.
