The Welcome Home quest in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes picks up immediately after you finish The Last Dog Tag. It serves as a quiet, combat-free bridge between story beats, centered on reflection, flight, and meeting key characters.
How to start the Welcome Home quest
From this moment, the floating mountain hub is fully open for exploration, but the quest will not advance until you interact with a specific object nearby.

Add to Google Preferences →Change between first-person and third-person view (optional)
At the start of Welcome Home, a key option unlocks: you can now switch between first-person and third-person perspectives. This can be toggled in the game’s settings menu.
Using third-person can make Ikran flight and environmental navigation easier to read visually, while first-person keeps the more immersive view you may be used to from the base game. The choice has no impact on quest completion.
Find and use the Resting Mat
Near So’Lek’s Weapon Rack, you will find a Resting Mat on the ground. This is the trigger for the main part of Welcome Home.
During this reflection, a cutscene plays in which your character meditates, and Sarentu appears. This sequence sets the emotional context for the rest of the mission but does not require any input beyond starting it.

Race Sarentu to Hometree on your Ikran
Once the meditation vision ends, the quest pivots into an aerial race. You need to race Sarentu to Hometree using your Ikran.
There is no combat during this segment, but you can collide with the environment, so read the verticality of the trees and adjust altitude as needed.

Manage Ikran stamina during the race
This sequence emphasizes stamina management while flying, which becomes more important in later content.
- Active maneuvers drain stamina. Speed Burst, barrel rolls, and rapid direction changes all consume stamina from your Ikran’s bar.
- Stamina regenerates over time. If you ease off boosts and hard turns, the bar refills naturally.
- Skimming over water restores stamina faster. Flying low over water lets So’Lek’s Ikran hunt fish, accelerating stamina recovery.
To avoid losing momentum near the end of the race, alternate between short bursts and short recovery windows instead of holding Speed Burst continuously. Use low passes over water as a deliberate refill moment if the route allows.
Land at Hometree
As you near the destination, the route levels out around Hometree and the race section winds down.
If you are too high or slightly off the marked zone, the landing prompt will not show. Adjust position until it does, then confirm. Once you touch down, a cutscene plays with So’Lek and the Sarentu family, marking a key story moment.

Follow the Sarentu family into the cave
After the Hometree cutscene, the quest continues on foot.
This stretch is almost entirely guided. Reaching the highlighted spot inside the cave starts another brief story sequence where you meet the Tlalim.
Quest completion and what unlocks next
Welcome Home ends as soon as the final cave cutscene wraps up. There are no branching objectives or hidden requirements; if you have:
- Interacted with the Resting Mat and watched the meditation scene,
- Completed the Ikran race to Hometree,
- Landed in the marked area, and
- Followed the Sarentu family into the cave until the last cutscene finishes,
the quest completes automatically.
Right after this, the next story mission in From the Ashes, Ash on the Wind, becomes available and continues So’Lek’s storyline from the new home base.
