Every island where boss pets appear, the gear you need, and how to catch them solo with the Boss Catcher enchant.

Boss Pets in Catch and Tame are the heavy hitters of the collection, and each one only shows up on a specific island. To fill out your Boss Pets index, you need to know exactly where to look. As of Update 29, there are 12 Boss Pets spread across the map, and most of them require a partner to take down.

Quick answer: Boss Pets spawn on Starter Island, Forgotten Depths, Cave Island, Dragon Island, Volcano Island, Safari Island, Ice Island, Bee Island, and Lost Docks. Bring your best Lasso, Fishing Rod, Bobber, and Bait, plus a partner, or use a Lasso with the Boss Catcher enchant to catch them alone.

The table below lists every Boss Pet and the island it appears on, so you can head straight to the right spot instead of server hopping blindly. Two of the bosses share the Abyss area inside Forgotten Depths, and one is currently unobtainable.

Note: The Alabaster Whale on Lost Docks is the exception to the normal catch method. You can only reel it in by fishing, so make sure your Fishing Rod, Bobber, and Bait are ready before you arrive.

What you need to catch Boss Pets

Boss Pets are far tougher than regular wild pets, so preparation matters. By default, you cannot bring one down on your own. You need a partner to help defeat the boss, and once it goes down, both you and your partner receive the Boss Pet.

  • Your best available Lasso
  • Fishing Rod, Bobber, and Bait (required for the Alabaster Whale)
  • A partner, unless your Lasso has the Boss Catcher enchant

How to catch Boss Pets solo

If you prefer private servers or just don’t want to rely on other players, the Boss Catcher enchant lets you tame Boss Pets alone. Applied to your Lasso, it removes the partner requirement entirely. You roll for it at an Enchant Table using Cash.

The Boss Catcher enchant lets you tame Boss Pets without a partner.
Travel to Bee Island and head inside the mountain. If the gate is still locked, catch Worker Bees on Bee Island to get the key that opens it.
Move to the center of the mountain to find the Enchant Table, then interact with it to open the enchanting menu.
Select the best Lasso you want to enchant, then press the Enchant button to roll for an enchant using Cash. Keep rolling until you land Boss Catcher.

There is a second Enchant Table on Cave Island if you’d rather not return to Bee Island. To reach it, collect the 5 TNTs hidden in the tunnels to open the entrance.

Once Boss Catcher is on your Lasso, you can approach any Boss Pet on its island and capture it without waiting for another player. With the enchant secured and the spawn list above, every Boss Pet outside the currently unobtainable Alien Skeleton Boss is within reach for your index.
