Yamato is the second five-star weapon in Broken Blade, added with the Reforge the Yamato update on June 12, 2026. It is a Katana-type blade modeled on Vergil’s sword from Devil May Cry, and you cannot buy it. You forge it on Midgard Island after collecting a large set of materials, then unlock its signature transformation through one of its skills.
Quick answer: Gather every crafting material, interact with the Yamato pedestal on Midgard Island to forge the weapon, equip it, then press the V skill to charge and activate Yamato’s transformed state.
Yamato crafting requirements in Broken Blade
The broken pieces of Yamato sit on Midgard Island, also called Dungeon Island. Enter through the portal, climb the stairs, and move toward the first circular pedestal near the Mastery NPC, the Space Shop, and the Boss Quest NPC. That pedestal is where the forging happens.
You need every item below before the craft option becomes usable.
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Money | 5,000,000,000 |
| Gems | 60,000,000 |
| Katana Piece I | 6,500 |
| Katana Piece II | 4,000 |
| Katana Piece III | 2,500 |
| Red Orb | 1,000 |
| Fire Seed | 10,000 |
Katana Pieces and Fire Seeds stack up naturally as you fight enemies, open chests, and farm across the map, so they rarely become the bottleneck. The Red Orb count is the part that takes real time.

Red Orbs drop from the Space Invader enemies added in the update on Midgard Island. The drop chance sits above 50 percent, which makes Space Invaders the most reliable source for the 1,000 orbs you need. You can also acquire Red Orbs from other players through Trading.
Active farming beats standing in one spot. Move around the island, clear Space Invaders as fast as you can, and keep relocating to the next group. Constant movement keeps your kill rate high and the orbs accumulate faster. AFK farming works but moves at a far slower pace.
Equip your strongest Luck Title before a session, since extra luck improves drop rates across thousands of kills. While clearing Space Invaders you will also pick up Space Ore, the best upgrade material for the finished weapon.
How to get the Space element for Yamato
Yamato pairs best with the Space element, which is built to complement the weapon. Other elements technically work, but Space gives the strongest overall synergy and the best performance.
- Buy it from the Space Shop using Holy currency.
- Defeat the Space Invader enemy on Midgard Island for a chance at the drop.

How to unlock the Yamato transformation
The transformation lives in Yamato’s V skill. When you first press it, the skill behaves as a charge ability. Once that charge completes and the skill activates, Yamato shifts into its transformed state, which raises its power and changes how the weapon performs in combat.
You know it worked when the V skill finishes its charge and the transformed state engages, applying the buff to your attacks. This transformation is the feature that sets Yamato apart from other katanas, so it is worth practicing the timing of the V skill in regular fights.
The rest of Yamato’s kit supports it. The Z skill is the main offensive attack and has no cooldown, the X and C skills both work as parries for countering enemy attacks, and the ultimate delivers heavy damage that pairs well with the transformation buffs.
Upgrade Yamato with Space Ore
After forging, upgrade the weapon with Space Ore, which covers every stat a katana build wants. It is the strongest single ore for Yamato right now.
| Space Ore bonus | Value |
|---|---|
| Damage | 40% |
| Katana Damage | 40% |
| Speed | 6% |
| Critical Chance | 6% |
| Critical Damage | 35% |
If you do not have enough Space Ore yet, Holy Ore, Frost Ore, and Thunder Ore all serve as workable alternatives until you build up a supply. From there, push Soul Forge levels, complete the new Master Quest, raise Katana Mastery, and unlock the new Altars, which grant +10% Damage and +380% Health to your whole account.
Yamato rewards patience more than most weapons in Broken Blade. Once the orbs are farmed, the blade is forged, and the V skill transformation is active, you have one of the game’s strongest late-game katanas with built-in parries and a damage ceiling that climbs with every upgrade.
