Anime Squadron is a lane-battler on Roblox where you summon anime-inspired units, push their stats, and hold off enemy waves across Story, Squadron, Challenge, and Raid modes. Your roster matters more than anything else, so knowing which units carry and which to bench saves you Gems and upgrade materials. The roster currently spans more than 20 characters plus their evolved forms.
Quick answer: Build toward Gometa (SSJ4) as your main damage carry, keep Woo (Shadow), Madora (Gunbai), and Shanron for endgame, and always run Fastwagon for economy. Roll the Superior trait on your keeper carry before spending more Trait Shards.
Anime Squadron unit tier list (June 2026)
Units come mostly from the Basic Banner and Selection Banner, pulled with Gems you earn by clearing levels. A few characters are locked behind specific stages, such as the Puppeteer. The ranking below sorts every unit by how well it performs across modes, with S-tier holding the frontline carries and C-tier holding the weakest fillers.
| Tier | Units |
|---|---|
| S | Puppeteer (Transcendent), Puppeteer, Gometa (SSJ4), Goki SSJ4 (Full Power), Rizzuto (Sage), Shinks (Emperor), Woo (Shadow), Woo, Shanron, Madora (Gunbai) |
| A | Vegata SSJ4 (Full Power), Goki SSJ4, Vegata SSJ4, Rizzuto, Big Beard (Father), Big Beard, Tranks, Fastwagon, Choi, Shinks, Karashi (Sharingan) |
| B | Zaro, Igras, Shin, Rudaus, Shield Hero |
| C | Ramuru, Mamosa, Zemitsu, Michigo, Asto, Mab |
S-tier units are the ones you put on the field first. They bring heavy damage plus passives or Ultimates that wipe out groups of enemies. Gometa SSJ4, the final evolution of Goki SSJ4, combines strong survivability with a wide attack range. Goki SSJ4 (Full Power) shuts down enemy abilities and lands a devastating Ultimate, while Woo (Shadow) puts out the highest raw damage in the game and is ideal for grinding Infinite Mode.
The two Puppeteer forms cover both damage and tanking. Puppeteer (Transcendent) flies and deals heavy damage while soaking hits, and the base Puppeteer still earns a top spot thanks to its damage output even with fewer passives. Madora (Gunbai) stacks Burn damage and calls down meteors with its Ultimate, and Shanron pairs huge damage with long range despite a high deploy cost.
A-tier units are reliable picks that fall just short of the meta. Several gain an Awakening that hands them stronger passives, letting them survive Raids and Challenges. Karashi (Sharingan) is fast and powerful enough to auto-clear levels, Big Beard (Father) tanks and grows stronger as its health drops, and Fastwagon earns money on the field while paying out 500 Yen when it dies.
B-tier covers basic support and tank units that work early but get outclassed quickly. Igras heals itself on every kill, which makes it a serviceable Story Mode tank, though Big Beard outperforms it thanks to damage and defense passives. C-tier units carry only one or two weak passives and low stats, so it is better to roll for rarer units than to invest upgrades in them.

Most top units are evolutions, so you need their base form before you can chase the upgrade. A handful only drop from specific modes at very low rates. Here is where each S-tier unit comes from as of Update 1.
| Unit | How to get it |
|---|---|
| Puppeteer (Transcendent) | Evolve Puppeteer |
| Puppeteer | 1% drop in Normal Katakara Bridge Challenge |
| Gometa SSJ4 | Evolve Goki SSJ4 (Full Power) |
| Goki SSJ4 (Full Power) | Evolve Goki SSJ4 |
| Rizzuto (Sage) | Evolve Rizzuto |
| Shinks (Emperor) | Evolve Shinks |
| Woo (Shadow) | Evolve Woo |
| Woo | 0.005% drop in Summon Banners |
| Shanron | 0.25%–0.5% drop in GT City Raid |
| Madora (Gunbai) | 0.25%–0.5% drop in Act 4 of Leaf Village Squadron Stage |
You can launch Anime Squadron directly on Roblox to start farming Gems and the stages that drop these units. Note that Gometa SSJ4 sits at the end of a longer chain, so you will need to roll Goki and evolve through SSJ4 and the Full Power form before it becomes available.
Anime Squadron trait tier list
Traits can shift a unit’s performance more than a few upgrade levels. The combination of a high-tier unit and a top trait is what carries the hardest content, so it pays to know when to keep a roll and when to reroll it away.
| Tier | Traits |
|---|---|
| SS | Superior, Cloner |
| S | Entrepreneur, Rebirth |
| A | Lethal, Sniper, Wealthy |
| B | Knight, Juggernaut |
| C | Powerful, Ranger |
| D | Endure, Sight, Tank |
Superior is the best trait in the game. It grants +300% Damage, +300% HP, +30% Range, and +1 unit placement, and that extra deployment slot alone is a major edge. Cloner is the next best because it doubles a unit on deployment with bonus Damage and HP, often giving more value than flat stat boosts on a strong DPS unit.
Entrepreneur cuts a unit’s cost by 40% while adding Damage and HP, which makes expensive S-tier units far easier to field. Rebirth respawns a fallen unit once at 50% HP, a strong pick for carries you need to keep alive during long Infinite and boss fights. Anything in the D-tier row should be rerolled off as soon as you can afford to.

How to reroll traits in Anime Squadron
Unit and trait facts to know
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Newest units | Puppeteer and Puppeteer (Transcendent) |
| Unit level cap | Level 40 |
| Best trait | Superior (+300% Damage, +300% HP, +30% Range, +1 placement) |
| Premium currency | Gems, earned by clearing levels in any mode |
If you are just starting, prioritize a single carry before spreading materials across the roster. Lock in Fastwagon for income, add Shinks for its debuffs and survivability support, then work toward Gometa SSJ4, Woo (Shadow), Madora (Gunbai), and Shanron as your account matures. Anime Squadron is still receiving updates, so expect new units to shuffle these rankings when fresh content lands.
