The Focus in the Sunstone Circle is one of the Chapter 3 Focus Stone hunts in Gothic 1 Remake, and the hard part is not the trek to the tomb. It is the zombie waiting inside the focus chamber, which shrugs off every direct hit you throw at it. The fight is a puzzle wearing a boss bar, and once you understand the electric mechanism, it falls apart quickly.
Quick answer: Light the four torch pillars to open the tomb, then inside the boss room shoot the three blue wall panels to charge the electric beam in the center. Kite the zombie onto the metal grate before you trigger the third panel so the beam burns it. Repeat until it dies, grab the Focus Stone, and deliver it to Saturas in the New Camp.
How to reach the Sunstone Circle near Orc Territory
The Stonehenge sits west of the Old Camp, close to the Orc Territory guard post. Head out from the Old Camp toward that guard post and enter it, then take the left path and follow it straight up to the stone circle. Expect a few orcs and orc dogs along the way, so clear them before you settle in.
If you are coming from a different direction, the safer approach uses the mountain pass near the New Camp. Leaving from the Old Camp can dump you into the Orc Badlands if you take a wrong turn, so the mountain pass keeps you away from the strongest enemies.

At the stone circle, talk to Diego. He leads you to the entrance of the underground crypt, where four pedestals with torches stand around a locked door. All four have to be lit for the door to open.
Do not let the skeleton warriors land back-to-back hits, because they deal heavy damage. Thrust attacks or heavy swings tend to stun them instantly, which buys you the window to finish each one.

Open the side rooms with the blue panels
Inside the tomb you reach a room with three doors. One stands open and leads deeper, while the other two are sealed. Each sealed door has a glowing blue panel above it, and an arrow or a magic hit to that panel unlocks it. Learning this now matters, because the exact same trick is how you beat the boss in the next room.
Loot both side rooms before moving on. They hold a steel mace plus a handful of Extract of Magic Energy potions and a Telekinesis scroll. The steel mace is worth grabbing even if you do not need it here, since a blunt weapon makes the Mountain Fortress golem fight far easier later.
How to defeat the zombie in the focus chamber
The zombie that guards the Focus Stone takes no damage from your weapons or from Diego. This fight is technical, not a slugfest. You damage it only by routing the room’s electric beam through it, which means three wall panels and careful positioning instead of brute force.
Skeletons keep spawning during the fight. Let Diego soak those mobs while you stay focused on the zombie and the panels. The most common way to die here is getting surrounded or pinned in a corner, so keep moving and never walk into the electric stream yourself, as it drains a massive chunk of your health.

Grab the Focus Stone and loot the mummies
With the zombie and the spawned skeletons dead, the Focus Stone appears floating in the middle of the room. Pick it up before you leave.
Do not skip the two mummies in the corners of the chamber. They carry a strong haul of rewards.
- Schematic of Custodian’s Blade
- Light Rune
- Ring of Invincibility

How to know the quest is complete
Carry the Focus Stone back to Saturas in the New Camp and hand it over. Delivering it closes out the quest and pays a 3,500 XP reward. The quest log updates the moment Saturas takes the stone, which confirms it counts toward the four Focus Stones he needs.
If the door at the stone circle never opened, the usual cause is a torch pillar you missed or a surviving skeleton from the ambush, since both conditions must be met at once. And if the zombie’s health bar refuses to drop, it means it was not standing on the central grate when the beam fired, so reposition it and trigger the third panel again. Clear those two checks and the Sunstone Circle is done.
