What the Frozen Series outfit costs, how to unlock it, and the Cattus monster behind the cosmetic.

What the Frozen Series outfit costs, how to unlock it, and the Cattus monster behind the cosmetic.

The Devourer is a Frozen Series outfit in Fortnite built around Cattus, the giant kaiju that smashed its way out of Polar Peak during the game’s early seasons. The skin bundles the creature into a playable cosmetic, complete with a built-in roar emote and a couple of selectable looks.

Quick answer: Buy the Polar Legends Pack for $22.99 in the Item Shop the next time it is listed. The Devourer comes inside that pack and cannot be bought on its own with V-Bucks.

The Devourer outfit details and cost

The outfit first arrived in Chapter 2 Season 1 with update v11.30 and released on December 24th, 2019. It belongs to the Polar Legends set and only unlocks through the Polar Legends Pack. The in-game description reads, “No longer trapped in his icy prison.”

How to get The Devourer

Open the Item Shop and check the Limited Time or featured bundles section for the Polar Legends Pack. The Devourer only shows up when that pack is in rotation.
Purchase the Polar Legends Pack for $22.99 using real currency. The pack is a real-money purchase, not a V-Bucks listing, and includes the full Polar Legends set of nine cosmetic items.
Confirm the unlock in your locker. Once the purchase completes, The Devourer appears under your outfits with its Power Roar emote attached, and you can equip it across Battle Royale, Save the World, and Creative.

If you do not see the pack anywhere in the shop, it is simply not available right now. The Devourer is a rotating item, and no official return date is currently confirmed.

Selectable styles and cross-game looks

The Devourer ships with two main styles you can switch between in the locker. There are also adapted versions that appear automatically in LEGO and Fall Guys experiences.

StyleDescription
DefaultThe frost-covered version of the monster
No FrostThe same design with the ice removed
LEGO StyleA minifigure version; a higher-detail look was added in v40.10, and both can be selected
Bean StyleA matching Fall Guys bean used in Fall Guys modes

The outfit is supported in Battle Royale, Save the World, Creative, Festival, and LEGO Fortnite. It is not currently usable in Rocket Racing.

Item Shop history and last appearance

The Devourer has surfaced in the Item Shop bundled with the Polar Legends Pack across 212 separate appearances on 192 different days. It tends to return around the winter holidays, with long runs in late November through early January. Its most recent appearance was January 12th, 2026.

The Devourer monster behind the skin

Before it became a cosmetic, The Devourer, also called Cattus, was a story event. The kaiju was first spotted frozen inside Polar Peak, then broke free from the glacier and fought the Mecha Team Leader in one of Fortnite’s live battles. It is a towering creature roughly 161 meters tall, able to leap huge distances, swim under the map, and fire a green energy beam from its mouth.

During the clash with the Mecha, the monster bent the metal of the Vault, tore off the robot’s arm, and shrugged off rocket fire. That fight is why the outfit leans into a giant, armored design with plated shoulders and heavy claws, and why its signature animation is a loud roar.

For collectors chasing the Polar Legends set, The Devourer is the centerpiece. Keep an eye on the Item Shop during the colder months, since that is when the Polar Legends Pack has historically come back into rotation.
