Battle Pet is an incremental pet-collecting simulator on Roblox where you build a squad of creatures and pit them against other players. There are over 50 pets to gather, each with its own stats and passive ability, and the way those passives work together usually matters more than any single pet’s raw numbers. The game is still in Beta and is developed by Tomato2, with ongoing updates and bug fixes.
Quick answer: Collect pets from chests or by stealing them from defeated opponents, place them in the right battle order so tanks soak damage up front and damage dealers stay alive in the back, then spend the Experience you earn to level your best pets.
Pets and why team synergy beats raw stats
Pets are the core of everything. Each of the 50-plus pets carries its own stat line and a passive ability, and your team fights with several pets active at the same time. Because of that, how their passives combine often decides a match more than any one pet’s individual power.
Some pets are built to tank. Placed at the front, they soak up enemy damage so the rest of your team survives. Others reward patience, gaining Attack buffs the longer they stay alive in the back. Reading those roles and pairing them correctly is the difference between a clean win and a quick loss.

There is more than one path to expanding your collection. You can open Chests to find pets, and you can also take pets from opponents you defeat in battle. Every pet you collect is tracked in the in-game Album, and finding a pet for the first time hands you a decent chunk of Experience.
- Open Chests to discover pets and Food Items.
- Steal pets from players you beat in a Pet Battle.
- Check the Album to see which pets you have already found.
How Pet Battles play out
During a fight, your pets act on their own. What you control is the order in which they enter combat, and that ordering is the strategic heart of the game. Put a durable pet in front to absorb hits, and keep your back-line damage dealers protected so their buffs can build up over time.
Winning a battle rewards Experience, and sometimes an extra Chest on top. That Experience is the resource you pour back into your favorite pets to raise their stats and make them perform better in future fights.
Food, Hats, and Crafting
Three support systems shape how strong your team becomes. Food and Hats both come out of Chests, while Crafting lets you trade up old pets for better ones. Here is what each does.
| System | What it does |
|---|---|
| Food | Collected from Chests and used in battle to boost stats or heal your pets. |
| Hats | Equipped on a pet to grant extra stats or a unique effect. |
| Crafting | Creates new, higher-rarity and higher-level pets by discarding older ones. |
Tip: Crafting is a deliberate trade. You give up old pets to produce stronger, rarer ones, so hold onto material before committing duplicates you might still want.
Leveling pets and unlocking zones
Progression runs on Experience. Spend it to level up the pets you rely on, which raises their overall stats and makes them tougher in combat. As you grow stronger, you unlock new zones filled with exotic creatures to collect and battle.
Equipping Hats stacks on top of leveling. Since each Hat adds stats or a special perk, pairing the right Hat with the right pet pushes a strong unit even further.
Controls
The control scheme is minimal. A single input handles interacting, equipping, and clicking through menus.
| Action | Key bind |
|---|---|
| Interact / Equip / Click | Left Mouse Button |
Because Battle Pet is still in Beta, expect details to shift as Tomato2 ships new updates. The fundamentals stay the same, though. Collect widely, build a team whose passives reinforce each other, order your pets so the front holds and the back survives, then feed your wins back into leveling and crafting.
