Fortnite is reopening one of its most requested vaults. Epic Games has confirmed that the Absolute Doom Battle Pass from Chapter 5 Season 4 is coming back, making it the first time cosmetics locked behind a Battle Pass progression track will return to the game. The Marvel-heavy lineup includes Doctor Doom, Gwenpool, and War Machine, among others.
Quick answer: The Absolute Doom (Chapter 5 Season 4) Marvel Battle Pass returns with the 41.10 update. Epic has not yet said which skins come back, in what order, or whether they appear in the Item Shop.
What Epic confirmed about the return
The reveal came through a teaser on Fortnite’s official X account. The clip moves through a series of vault gates before settling on a file labeled “UNVAULTED: Battle Pass C5S4,” with the caption, “The vault has been opened and we’re pulling a few things from this file.” That file points directly at Chapter 5 Season 4, the Absolute Doom season, and ties the comeback to the 41.10 update.
This is a milestone for the game. Until now, Battle Pass cosmetics were earned only by leveling through the season that offered them, and players who missed a season had no way to get those exact characters later. The Absolute Doom return changes that for the first time.
Every Absolute Doom skin eligible to return
The Absolute Doom Battle Pass launched on August 16, 2024 for 800 V-Bucks and centered on Doctor Doom seizing the Island after tricking Megalo Don while wearing his Wanderer disguise. The pass was packed with Marvel characters and several outfit styles tied to the season’s story.
| Item | Notes |
|---|---|
| Gwenpool | Outfit |
| War Machine | Outfit |
| Peelverine | Peely x Wolverine |
| Emma Frost | Outfit |
| Captain Jones | Jonesy x Captain America |
| Mysterio | Outfit |
| Shuri | Outfit |
| Doom | Secret skin |
| Arcane Burn | Super Styles |
| Cold Sorcery | Super Styles |
| Doomforged | Super Styles |
Note: Every skin and style above is eligible to come back, but eligibility is not the same as confirmation. Epic has not named which ones will actually return in the 41.10 update.
Why these skins can come back now
In August 2024, Epic changed a long-standing rule. Battle Pass cosmetics released from Chapter 5 Season 4 onward are no longer gone forever once a season ends. Instead, buying the seasonal pass gives you early access to those items, and Epic reserves the right to re-release them later, after at least 18 months have passed.
Absolute Doom was the very first season to fall under that no-exclusivity policy, which is why it is leading the wave of returning cosmetics. Players who own the Battle Pass still got the better deal, since the pass bundled all of these items for a single low price.
What’s still unconfirmed
A few key details remain open. Epic has not stated whether the returning Absolute Doom cosmetics will sell through the Item Shop or arrive through some other method. The company also has not published a full list of which outfits and styles make the cut.
Because the collection is so large, it is likely that not every skin returns at once. The Super Styles are also a question mark, since they were among the grindiest rewards in the original pass and could be handled differently from the base outfits. Until Epic shares specifics, treat the full lineup as eligible rather than guaranteed, and watch for the 41.10 patch details to confirm exactly what unvaults and how you can claim it.
