Arc Raiders is changing what you get for sending a Raider out on the caravan. Starting with the fourth Expedition, completing the departure challenge no longer hands out bonus skill points. Instead, you earn high-end blueprints and Raider Tokens, the currency used for cosmetic purchases in the shop. The shift makes a fresh start more useful for players who have already maxed out the skill tree and no longer need extra points.
Quick answer: The fourth Expedition window opens July 7, 2026. Deal damage while topside to unlock five rewards. Each reward grants one random high-end blueprint plus 150 Raider Tokens, for a total of 750 tokens if you hit every threshold.
What changes in Expedition 4
Earlier Expeditions revolved around skill points. The third Expedition tied those points to a damage challenge instead of stash value, and the fourth keeps the same damage-based structure but replaces the prize entirely. Now the five challenge rewards are a random blueprint and Raider Tokens at each step. Embark has confirmed the details in its official Expedition 4 announcement.
The blueprints all come from a high-end pool, so if you can gather the crafting materials early, they give a fresh Raider a meaningful head start. The 150 tokens per reward stack toward cosmetics. The Expedition also brings a new Zenith Raider outfit with a balaclava look, replacing the evolving Patchwork outfit that carried through the first three cycles.

Each reward unlocks once you reach a damage total during the Expedition window. You can deal damage with any weapon or gadget against any valid target, with the practice range excluded. The thresholds match the damage challenge introduced in the previous Expedition.
| Reward | Damage required | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 5,000 | Random blueprint + 150 Raider Tokens |
| 2 | 10,000 | Random blueprint + 150 Raider Tokens |
| 3 | 30,000 | Random blueprint + 150 Raider Tokens |
| 4 | 50,000 | Random blueprint + 150 Raider Tokens |
| 5 | 100,000 | Random blueprint + 150 Raider Tokens |
Note: Embark says 100,000 damage is roughly equal to destroying 20 Bastions. In a single strong round, players reached 8,000 to 10,000 damage in internal testing, so reaching the top reward takes several runs rather than one.
When the Expedition 4 window opens
The fourth Expedition window opens on July 7, 2026. The Expedition Project runs on a roughly two-month cycle, split into a long preparation phase and a final departure window. During the window, eligible players sign up, complete the damage challenge, and depart with a new Raider.
Two steps must be done in order. First, finish building your caravan during the preparation phase by committing the required materials across its stages. Second, once the window opens, sign up to depart. Completing the caravan on its own does not count as signing up, so confirm both before the window closes.
What stays the same
Most of the Expedition framework is unchanged. You still unlock the project at level 20, and departing still grants +12 stash space per completed Expedition. The catch-up system also remains tied to stash value, at 300,000 per skill point you missed from an earlier departure. You must clear the current damage challenge before catch-up unlocks.
The temporary buffs that stack across consecutive departures continue as before. They reset if you skip a window.
| Buff | Per completion | Max (3 consecutive) |
|---|---|---|
| XP boost | +5% | +15% |
| Scrappy materials | +6% | +18% |
| Repair value | +10% | +30% |
What you lose and what you keep
An Expedition is a soft reset. Your Raider leaves the Rust Belt for good, and anything tied to that character’s progress is wiped. Account-level progress and anything involving real money is preserved. Bonus skill points and stash slots earned from past Expeditions also carry over.
| Reset | Kept |
|---|---|
| Player level | Unlocked maps |
| Skill points | Codex entries |
| Stash and inventory | Raider Tokens and Cred |
| Blueprints learned | Cosmetics and outfits |
| Coins | Achievements and leaderboards |
| Workshop upgrades | Trials and Merits |
| Quest progress | Bonus skill points and stash slots from past Expeditions |
How to confirm you earned the rewards
Rewards register as you cross each damage total during the window, so you do not need to finish the whole challenge in one session. The blueprint and 150 Raider Tokens land at each completed threshold. Once your Raider departs at the close of the window, your new Raider starts with the Expedition’s permanent unlocks, the Zenith outfit, and the +12 stash slots applied.
For players sitting near the top of the skill tree, the change is the main reason to depart again. Blueprints and tokens give a concrete payoff that skill points no longer do, and the damage-based challenge keeps the requirement focused on playing rather than grinding stash value.
