Genshin Impact’s 6.7 update, branded Luna VIII, goes live after a fixed maintenance window that takes every server offline. The downtime is the last gate before Sandrone, the Frost Moon area, and the patch’s events become playable, so the timing matters if you want to log in the moment it returns.
Quick answer: Maintenance starts on July 1, 2026 at 6:00 AM (UTC+8) and runs for about five hours, ending at 11:00 AM (UTC+8). The new version is playable the instant servers come back, when the game shows an update download prompt.

Genshin Impact 6.7 maintenance start and end times
HoYoverse follows its standard pattern for major versions. The servers shut down at 6:00 AM (UTC+8) and stay offline for roughly five hours while the build is pushed and bug fixes are applied. You cannot log in or use any in-game features during this period. The version unlocks worldwide at the same instant, so your local clock time depends on which server you play on.
The five-hour estimate is the scheduled length. Maintenance often clears one or two hours early, and in rare cases it runs long. If it overruns, players receive extra Primogem compensation for each additional hour the game stays down.

What unlocks after maintenance and the 600 Primogem compensation
When servers come back, the Phase 1 banners open immediately. That covers the debut banner for the five-star Cryo Claymore character Sandrone and the rerun banner for five-star Cryo character Citlali. The new Frost Moon area also becomes explorable, with timed bonus rewards for finishing it.
A maintenance compensation of 600 Primogems is sent to every eligible player’s in-game mailbox. Open your mail after logging in to claim it. If the downtime runs past the scheduled five hours, additional Primogems are added for each extra hour.
The 6.7 Special Program already aired and dropped three redemption codes worth 300 Primogems total, alongside Mystic Enhancement Ore, Hero’s Wit, and Mora. These codes expire quickly, usually within 24 hours of the broadcast, so redeem them through your in-game settings or the official redemption page if they are still active.
How to confirm Luna VIII is live
You will know maintenance has finished when the game stops blocking the login and instead shows a prompt to download the Luna VIII update. After the download completes and you log in, the new banners appear in the wish menu and the compensation mail lands in your inbox. If you still see the maintenance notice, servers have not reopened yet, even if the scheduled end time has passed.
Tasks to finish before servers go offline
Because the game is fully unplayable during the window, clear anything time-sensitive before 6:00 AM (UTC+8) on July 1. A short checklist:
- Spend Original Resin on domains, ley lines, or world bosses so it does not overflow.
- Claim daily commission rewards from the Adventurers’ Guild.
- Finish any limited-time event stages with deadlines that fall before the patch.
- Hold off on Fragile Resin until servers reopen.
- Preload the update files in advance to cut down the download wait once maintenance clears.
The current Lohen and Mavuika banners remain up through June 30, 2026, so any pulls you want from them need to happen before the servers shut down. Once the download prompt confirms Luna VIII is ready, Sandrone and the rest of the 6.7 content are immediately available.
