An early beta look at Snezhnaya’s layout, its position on Teyvat, and landmarks like Zapolyarny Palace and Snezhnograd.

Beta testing for Genshin Impact 7.0 is underway, and with it comes the first proper look at Snezhnaya, the seventh nation of Teyvat and the home of the Cryo Archon. Data-mined map files shared by leakers Seele and Hoyogame musicleak give a clear view of the region’s layout, its place on the world map, and the major landmarks players will explore once the update goes live.

Quick answer: The leaked Snezhnaya map sits just northwest of Nod-Krai, looks larger than Sumeru’s forest region, and features two major cities, a palace structure believed to be Zapolyarny Palace, a frozen port town, and train tracks linking the nation together. Treat every detail as beta-stage and subject to change before launch.

Where Snezhnaya sits on the Teyvat map

Nod-Krai, introduced earlier as an autonomous region, sits at the southernmost edge of Snezhnaya. The leaked world map confirms that Snezhnaya itself is positioned directly northwest of Nod-Krai, slotting the new nation into the top corner of Teyvat exactly where the lore has long pointed.

That placement matters for anyone tracking how the continent fits together. Snezhnaya is the last major nation on the map, and its border with Nod-Krai gives a natural travel route from familiar territory into the frozen north.

How big the Snezhnaya 7.0 map is

Map size was a real worry for fans, since some recent regions launched on the smaller side. The leak puts those fears to rest. The version 7.0 Snezhnaya map appears noticeably larger than Sumeru’s forest region, giving players a wide stretch of new ground to cover from day one.

Keep in mind this is only the initial 7.0 footprint. Past regions expanded over later patches, and Snezhnaya is expected to grow the same way. Over the full 7.x cycle, it could end up larger than Sumeru overall.

Key locations visible in the Snezhnaya map leak

The map shows a snow-covered nation, which fits a land ruled by the Cryo Archon, Tsaritsa. Several distinct landmarks stand out across the terrain.

LocationWhere it appearsWhat it likely is
Northern cityNorth of the mapPossibly the capital, Snezhnograd
Palace structureNorth of the northern cityLikely Zapolyarny Palace, Tsaritsa’s residence
Southern citySouth of the mapThe second major settlement
Frozen port townEast of a green areaPossibly Port Belovodye, Snezhnaya’s main port

The frozen port lines up with Port Belovodye, named in the in-game book A Brief History of the Pale Starborn. The large structure in the northeast matches the Tsar’s Grave glimpsed at the close of the Snezhnaya Ecology Teaser trailer.

Terrain, train lines, and environment

Snezhnaya is mostly endless winter, but the map is not all white. A lush green area sits on the northwest side, breaking up the snow before the land gives way to the frozen port to its east. That contrast suggests more environmental variety than a pure ice biome.

A train and railway system runs across large parts of the nation, with tracks connecting different regions on the map. Much like Fontaine’s Aquabus, this rail network looks set to act as a fast way to move across the snowy wastes. Given the climate, a Sheer Cold mechanic similar to Dragonspine is also expected.

Note: Two new enemy types have already been teased for the region, a rabbit-like creature with a red hood and a large tree-like creature with crystals growing on its body. Expect them to populate the frosty and forested zones shown on the map.

When Genshin Impact 7.0 releases

Version 7.0 is set to launch on August 12, 2026, opening Snezhnaya to all players. HoYoverse effectively confirmed the date through the redemption code Snezhnaya20260812 shared during the April 24 Special Program. Version 6.7 serves as the final patch of the current arc, with the game moving straight into Snezhnaya afterward.

Because everything here comes from beta files, the final map can shift before release. Landmark names, exact borders, and the size of the explorable area may all be adjusted. Still, if the leak holds, Snezhnaya looks like one of the largest and most detailed regions Teyvat has seen, with plenty to uncover the moment the update goes live.
