X-Creatures are boosted variants unique to the Genesis 1 map in ARK Survival Ascended. They deal more damage, take more damage in return, and hand you extra experience when killed. More importantly, many of them can be tamed and folded into your own line of dinos. Finding them comes down to knowing which biome each one favors and heading to the right coordinates.
Quick answer: The tameable X-Creatures spawn across four biomes. Volcano holds X-Rex, X-Allosaurus, X-Ankylosaurus, X-Triceratops, and the cave-bound X-Rock Elemental. Snow holds X-Yutyrannus, X-Sabertooth, X-Argentavis, X-Woolly Rhino, and X-Otter. Bog holds X-Spino, X-Raptor, X-Tapejara, X-Parasaur, and X-Paraceratherium. Ocean holds X-Megalodon, X-Mosasaurus, X-Basilosaurus, X-Dunkleosteus, X-Ichthyosaurus, and both X-Sabertooth Salmon.
How X-Creature spawns work
X-Creatures do not sit at fixed points. The coordinates below are hotspots, not guarantees, so expect to find your target somewhere within roughly a 200-meter radius of each listed location. They are also rarer than standard spawns, which means the one you want may not have spawned at all on your current server. Patience helps, and so does flying over the area on a Bloodstalker to spot them faster. A creature-finder mod can narrow the search further, since exact spawn points shift a little between servers and biomes.

Before you head out, it helps to know which of these can be ridden and bred once tamed. The X-Sabertooth Salmon and X-Otter cannot be ridden, and neither salmon variant nor the X-Rock Elemental can be bred.

Volcano biome X-Creature locations
The Volcano biome is the densest hunting ground for land predators and heavy herbivores. The X-Rex sits toward the northern reaches, while the X-Allosaurus and X-Ankylosaurus roam the outer corners. The X-Ankylosaurus in particular can wander far, so treat its coordinate as a starting point rather than a fixed nest.

| Creature | Approx. coordinates |
|---|---|
| X-Rex | Lat 5, Long 79 |
| X-Allosaurus | Lat 31, Long 95 |
| X-Ankylosaurus | Lat 44, Long 80 |
| X-Triceratops | Lat 38, Long 84 |
| X-Rock Elemental | Lat 21, Long 91 |
The X-Rex favors the northern edge of the biome, so approach with a strong mount and plenty of tranquilizers.

The X-Allosaurus hunts in packs and attacks other creatures on sight, so clear the area before you commit to a knockout.

The X-Rock Elemental is the one exception to the open-ground rule here. It spawns inside Volcano caves, and you can spot the right entrances by the large purple crystals clustered around them. Look for a Rock Elemental waiting within.

Snow and Arctic biome X-Creature locations
The frozen north holds a mix of predators, flyers, and gentler tames. The X-Otter is a special case. It appears near the lakes that hold X-Sabertooth Salmon, and if none are around, clearing out enough salmon will pull an Otter into the water or onto the nearby shore.
| Creature | Approx. coordinates |
|---|---|
| X-Argentavis | Lat 80, Long 8 |
| X-Sabertooth | Lat 81, Long 17 |
| X-Woolly Rhino | Lat 89, Long 20 |
| X-Yutyrannus | Lat 80, Long 22 |
| X-Otter | Lat 74, Long 13 |
The X-Argentavis is a corpse eater and turns aggressive, so keep an eye on the skies while you set up your trap.

Bog biome X-Creature locations
The Bog is home to a tight cluster of carnivores and a couple of herbivores. The X-Spino ranges across much of the swamp, while the X-Tapejara and X-Paraceratherium often share the same stretch of terrain. The X-Parasaur sticks to the southern parts of the biome.
| Creature | Approx. coordinates |
|---|---|
| X-Spino | Lat 58, Long 69 |
| X-Raptor | Lat 79, Long 72 |
| X-Tapejara | Lat 61, Long 70 |
| X-Paraceratherium | Lat 55, Long 60 |
| X-Parasaur | Lat 94, Long 75 |
The X-Raptor tends to sit toward the middle of the Bog and sometimes lingers near the water, so sweep the whole marked area rather than fixating on one spot.

Ocean biome X-Creature locations
The Ocean biome covers the widest spread of water tames. The X-Megalodon is the most common find and can appear almost anywhere across the deep water and the shallows alike. The X-Basilosaurus prefers the shallow stretches, so search there first if it is your target.
| Creature | Approx. coordinates |
|---|---|
| X-Megalodon | Across most of the ocean |
| X-Mosasaurus | Lat 11, Long 88 |
| X-Basilosaurus | Lat 21, Long 50 (shallows) |
| X-Dunkleosteus | Lat 65, Long 43 |
| X-Ichthyosaurus | Lat 60, Long 40 |
The X-Ichthyosaurus is curious rather than hostile. It will swim up and crowd your view without attacking, which makes it one of the easier ocean tames to approach.
New X-Creatures still to document
Genesis 1 also adds five newer X-Creatures to the pool: X-Acro, X-Deinosuchus, X-Archelon, X-Xiphactinus, and X-Cryolophosaurus. Their full spawn patterns are still being pinned down. For everything else, the coordinates above give you a reliable starting circle in each biome, and the surrounding area is worth sweeping since these boosted variants do not always spawn on the first pass.
