Current and upcoming events

New Update

New Update is the next scheduled drop, set to go live at noon Eastern on Saturday, July 25 — one week after Huge Update and the fourth straight Saturday release in the sequence. The developer hasn’t revealed what it contains; as with recent drops, the placeholder simply marks the date the next update is due. It’s set to run as the featured event through August 1. about 28,000 players have already marked interest, ahead of where Huge Update’s own sign-up count stood by the time that event wrapped.

Noon Eastern on July 25 converts to 11:00 AM CT, 10:00 AM MT, 9:00 AM PT, 4:00 PM UTC, and 5:00 PM BST.

Huge Update

Huge Update was the previous headline drop. The developer launched it just after noon Eastern on Saturday, July 18, and it wrapped up Friday afternoon, July 24 — a little ahead of the full-week runs the game has used for its other Saturday drops. True to its teaser billing, the developer never spelled out specifics beyond promising a big update. More than 24,000 players had marked interest by the time it wrapped.

Update #3 and admin abuse

Update #3 was an earlier Saturday headline, and the developer bundled it with an admin abuse session — a window where the team joins the live game and uses admin powers to stir up chaos for whoever shows up. That combined event ran for one hour, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM ET on Saturday, July 11, and has since finished. More than 60,000 players signed up for it.

Update #2

Update #2 came the Saturday before that, going live at noon ET on July 4 and holding the featured spot for a full week until Update #3 replaced it on July 11. It drew close to 40,000 interested players over that run.

A weekly update rhythm

Roll to Defend has kept up a steady weekly pattern for its main drops: Update #2 on July 4, Update #3 on July 11, Huge Update on July 18, and now New Update lined up for July 25 — four straight Saturdays, each around noon Eastern. The developer has also slotted in one-off events alongside the Saturday releases, such as the admin-abuse window bundled with Update #3. If the pattern holds, the drop after New Update would be expected the following weekend, though nothing past July 25 has been announced yet. We update this page as new dates are confirmed.
