The Explosive Archer setup turns a bow into a burst weapon in Palworld 1.0. It stacks three separate partner skills that make arrows detonate on impact, cut your charge time, and push raw bow damage higher. Because all three effects work while the Pals sit in your party, you never have to summon them, and you keep two open slots for support.
Quick answer: Run Loomen, Robinquill Terra, and Robinquill together in your party. Loomen adds an on-hit arrow explosion, Robinquill Terra raises bow charge speed, and Robinquill raises bow damage. The three effects are distinct, so they apply at the same time.

The three core Pals and what each one does
Loomen is the centerpiece. Its partner skill, Lantern Enchantment, adds an Arrow Explosion effect to your trainer, so every arrow you fire explodes on contact for a share of your attack damage. Robinquill Terra and Robinquill supply the supporting math around it. None of these bonuses need the Pal to be deployed, so all three fill passive party slots.
| Pal | Effect | Where to catch it |
|---|---|---|
| Loomen | Arrow explosion on hit | Spawns only in the World Tree region |
| Robinquill Terra | Faster bow charge speed | Levels 32–38 across the main island |
| Robinquill | Higher bow damage | Levels 22–34 across the main island |

Add to Google Preferences →Rank scaling from condensation
Each effect scales as you condense the Pal from rank 1 to rank 5. The bonuses are marked as unique, which means they still grow with rank, but a second copy of the same Pal adds nothing on top. Condense one strong carrier of each rather than stacking duplicates.
| Pal | Bonus | Rank 1 | Rank 5 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Loomen | Arrow Explosion | 15% | 30% |
| Robinquill Terra | Bow Charge Speed | 15% | 30% |
| Robinquill | Bow Damage | 10% | 35% |
The explosion value is a percentage of your attack damage, so it grows automatically as your character stats and weapon improve. Faster charge speed is a bow-specific buff, not a global attack-speed increase, so it shortens the draw on charged shots only.

Filling the two flex slots
The core three lock in the bow identity, leaving two slots open for survivability, movement, or extra damage. A common swap is Vanwyrm Cryst, whose partner skill raises weak point damage. It rewards clean headshots, so bring it if you can land shots on a boss’s weak spot consistently. If your aim is inconsistent, use those slots for a mount or a defensive Pal instead.
Note: Because arrow explosion, charge speed, and bow damage are three different effects, they coexist without overwriting each other. What does not stack is a duplicate carrier of the same bonus, so avoid doubling up on any single one.

Using the Explosive Archer against Hard Mode Tower bosses
A properly built bow can put out heavy weak point damage against Hard Mode Tower bosses, and the arrow explosion adds a second source of damage on every landed shot. The Mechanical Bow is the natural fit for this party. The trade-off is accuracy. Bow shots demand precise aim, and some boss hitboxes make weak point hits inconsistent, so this build rewards players who are comfortable targeting weak spots under pressure.
To confirm the party is working, watch for an explosion effect the moment an arrow connects. If arrows land but do not detonate, Loomen is not in your active party. If your charged shots feel slow or weak, check that Robinquill Terra and Robinquill are both slotted and, ideally, condensed toward rank 5 for the full 30% charge speed and 35% bow damage.
Kept together, these three Pals give a bow-focused trainer a clear damage floor without spending a summon, and the open slots let you tune the rest of the party to whatever tower you are clearing.
