Haze Seas: How to Get Cyborg V2 (Full Guide)

The exact requirements, boss fights, and NPC steps needed to awaken the Cyborg fighting style into its V2 form.

The exact requirements, boss fights, and NPC steps needed to awaken the Cyborg fighting style into its V2 form.

Cyborg V2 is a ranged combat upgrade in Haze Seas that turns the base Cyborg fighting style into a stronger set of energy and projectile attacks. Unlocking it is not a quick task. You need to reach Sea 3, max out enough Cyborg Mastery, and farm a rare boss drop before the awakening becomes available.

Quick answer: Reach 300 Cyborg Mastery, unlock Sea 3, collect 2 Saturn Rings, then pay 50,000,000 Beli to the Sage of Combat NPC in the Land of the Gods to permanently unlock Cyborg V2.

Cyborg V2 unlock requirements

All three conditions below must be met at the same time before the Sage of Combat will perform the upgrade. Missing any one of them blocks the awakening.

Saturn Rings2 (dropped by the Saturn Boss)
Beli50,000,000

Buy the base Cyborg fighting style

You cannot awaken a style you do not own, so the base Cyborg fighting style comes first. It is one of the more expensive V1 styles in the game and focuses on ranged combat instead of melee, using energy beams, projectiles, and mechanical strikes that work well against both bosses and regular NPCs.

Travel to the Starter Island in Sea 1.
Find the Cyborg Trainer NPC and purchase the style for 800,000 Beli.

Reach 300 Cyborg Mastery

The base style must hit 300 Mastery before the V2 option appears at the Sage of Combat. Mastery builds through combat and quests, so the fastest route is steady farming.

  • Defeat NPC enemies repeatedly with Cyborg equipped.
  • Complete quests that reward Mastery EXP.
  • Farm high-level enemies for larger, continuous gains.
  • Play during 2x Mastery events, which developers activate during updates and special weekends.

Reaching 300 Mastery is mandatory. The upgrade will not start until the counter is full.

Unlock Sea 3

The Sage of Combat, who handles the Cyborg V2 upgrade, lives in Sea 3. Getting there requires beating a trial boss.

Reach Level 4,200. Sea 3 stays locked below this level.
Go to Flower Capital in Sea 2 and speak with the Gatekeeper NPC, who stands beside the Dimensional Sailor NPC. Choose the Sea 3 option to begin the trial.
Fight the Red Emperor in the arena the Gatekeeper sends you to. He has roughly 378,908 HP and hits hard at close range, so stay mobile and attack from a distance.
Drop his HP to around 189,000. You do not have to finish him. A cutscene triggers automatically at that point, and the Red Emperor promises to return at full power later.
Return to Flower Capital, talk to the Gatekeeper again, and pick the Sea 3 option once more. Sea 3 is now permanently unlocked.

Farm 2 Saturn Rings from the Saturn Boss

Saturn Rings are the awakening material for Cyborg V2, and you need two of them. They drop from the Saturn Boss, which appears through a world event at Egg Island.

Wait for the Egg Island event timer, which runs every 1 hour and 15 minutes. When it hits zero, a Pirate Raid starts at Egg Island.
Clear all three waves of enemies during the raid. Once the third wave is down, a message appears on your screen.

Authority has been invoked… A higher being has descended at Egg Island.

Head to the top of Egg Island where the Saturn Boss spawns and defeat it. The boss has a 100% Saturn Ring drop rate, so you are guaranteed one ring per kill.
Repeat the full event and boss fight a second time to collect your second Saturn Ring.

Awaken Cyborg V2 at the Sage of Combat

With 300 Mastery, two Saturn Rings, and 50,000,000 Beli in hand, the final step is quick. Travel to the Land of the Gods, the starting island of Sea 3, and find the Sage of Combat NPC near spawn. This is the same NPC that handles several other advanced style upgrades.

Speak with the Sage of Combat and pay the upgrade cost. Once accepted, Cyborg V2 unlocks permanently, and your Cyborg moveset switches to its evolved abilities. If the option is greyed out or unavailable, it means one of the three requirements is still short, most often the 300 Mastery threshold or the second Saturn Ring.

Cyborg V2 moveset

After awakening, the new abilities unlock as your Mastery climbs on the V2 style.

MoveMastery required
Radical Smash (Z)0
Radical Beam (X)25
Radical Barrage (C)50

Once the Sage of Combat confirms the upgrade and Radical Smash appears as your Z ability, the process is complete and Cyborg V2 is yours for good.
