Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: How to Unlock New Suits for Peter and Miles

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 hands you a huge wardrobe, and almost none of it opens all at once. Suits arrive in three different ways as you play, and most still ask you to spend resources before you can wear them. Knowing which unlock method applies to each suit saves you from grinding for the wrong currency or waiting for a level you have already passed.

Quick answer: Open the Suits menu, then unlock a suit one of three ways: hit its required Spider-Level, complete the story or side mission tied to it, or buy it with Tech Parts plus City Tokens, Rare Tech Parts, or Hero Tokens. Story-reward and challenge-reward suits cost nothing.

Three ways suits unlock in Spider-Man 2

Every suit in the game becomes available through one of these paths. The path decides whether you need to keep playing, keep gaining experience, or spend materials.

• Spider-Level unlocks: Most suits appear once your character reaches a set level. Passing that level makes the suit purchasable, but you still pay its material cost.
• Story and mission unlocks: A handful of suits are tied to specific main missions or completed side content. Several of these are free once the trigger is met.
• Edition and update unlocks: Some suits ship with the Digital Deluxe Edition, pre-order bonuses, add-on packs, or free updates.

There are 91 suits in total, split as 46 for Peter Parker and 45 for Miles Morales. That count breaks down into 68 base-game suits, 10 from the Digital Deluxe Edition, two from the Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack, and 11 added through free updates.

Suit currencies and where they matter

Reaching a level does not automatically dress you in the suit. You spend one or more of the following resources to actually buy it. Higher-tier suits lean on the rarer tokens.

Story-reward suits (no cost)

The symbiote-related suits are free. You unlock them by clearing their linked mission, and some only become wearable once you finish the main campaign. Acquiring the Black Suit also pops the “A New Suit” trophy.

Three more Peter suits come free from finishing side-content threads: the Life Story Suit for all EMF missions, the Last Hunt Suit for all Hunter Base missions, and the Saving Lives Suit for all The Flame missions. You still pay Tech Parts and Tokens only if you want their alternate Suit Styles.

Peter Parker suits, unlock levels, and costs

The Advanced Suit 2.0 is your default. Everything below opens as you level up or clear early story beats, then costs the listed materials to buy.

Miles Morales suits, unlock levels, and costs

Miles follows the same system on his own set. His Upgraded Suit and Evolved Suit come from story progress, while the rest mix early-game availability with level gates and material costs.

Suits from editions and free updates

Not every suit is earned in-game. Some depend on your edition or an add-on, and several were folded in through free post-launch updates. These generally have no material cost and no alternate Suit Styles.

Note: Digital Deluxe, film and animated-media suits, the Fly and Fresh suits, and the Hellfire Gala suit do not include the three palette-swap Suit Styles that most base-game suits have.

Equip suits, switch Suit Styles, and confirm the unlock

If a suit will not appear as purchasable, the usual reasons are that you have not yet reached its Spider-Level, have not completed its linked mission, or the story requirement means it only becomes wearable after the campaign ends. Buying every available suit unlocks the “Kitted Out” silver trophy, so clearing the full list also cleans up that objective on the way to Platinum.
