Leveling in Fisch gates almost everything you care about. Higher-tier rods, better enchantments, and rarer fish only open up as your level climbs, so the fastest way forward is to fish where each catch dumps the most XP into your bar. A handful of spots do this far better than the open ocean, and stacking a few passive boosts on top speeds things up even more.
Quick answer: Crawl into the hidden Carrot Garden in Mushgrove Swamp, buy the Carrot Rod for 10,000 C$, and fish the carrot pond for Carrot Turtles worth +6,000 XP each. For the single biggest per-catch payout, farm the Magma Leviathan at Volcanic Vents for 12,000 XP. Then claim your Personal Aquarium XP and invite up to five friends for a 50% XP bonus.

Best XP farming spots in Fisch
Each location below rewards a specific high-XP fish. Match the rod and enchantment to the spot, and use the coordinates to travel straight there. Night and fog raise your catch odds at several of these locations, and the Clever and Insight enchantments add extra XP on top of the base values.
| Spot | Fish (XP) | Rods | Coordinates |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carrot Garden (Mushgrove Swamp) | Carrot Turtle (+6,000) | Carrot Rod | Hidden tunnel in Alligator Marsh |
| Volcanic Vents | Magma Leviathan (12,000) | Tempest Rod, Challenger’s Deep Rod | -3420, -2275, 3765 |
| Ancient Isle waterfall | Mosasaurus (3,000) | Poseidon Rod, Kraken Rod | 5817, 148, 419 |
| Calm Zone | Crystallized Seadragon (~70% of bar) | Tempest Rod, Challenger’s Deep Rod | -4360, -11175, 3715 |

Add to Google Preferences →Carrot Garden: the most consistent XP per catch
The Carrot Garden is a hidden zone tucked inside Mushgrove Swamp, and it hands out +6,000 XP per turtle with a rod that costs almost nothing. Because the pond is small and packed with Carrot Turtles, this is the most reliable way to grind level after level without chasing rare spawns.

Note: A Turtle Keystone sits inside the Terrapin Hideaway cave on Terrapin Island, marked by a glowing green object next to a barrel. Interact with it to collect the Turtle Keystone if you want to tie into the turtle content around this area.

Volcanic Vents: highest per-catch XP late game
Added with the Mariana’s Veil update, Volcanic Vents holds the Magma Leviathan, which pays out a massive 12,000 XP per catch even before any bonuses. With an Aurora Totem active, your chance of hooking one climbs to around 20%.
Use the Tempest Rod or Challenger’s Deep Rod here, since both reduce the negative progress-speed penalty and let you land fish faster. Add the Clever or Insight enchantment for even more XP per catch, and bring Truffle Worm as bait. If you want more rare fish nearby, push on to Challenger’s Deep or Abyssal Zenith.

Ancient Isle: early XP under level 100
If you are still between level 1 and 100, the waterfall at Ancient Isle is the place to grind. The Mosasaurus gives 3,000 base XP, making it one of the most valuable catches available that early. Fishing at night or in fog raises your success rate noticeably.
Bring the Poseidon Rod or Kraken Rod with the Resilient enchantment and use Truffle Worm or Shark Head as bait. If you do not have the top rods yet, the Rod of the Depths with Resilient is a strong stand-in for catching mythic fish here.

Claim passive XP from the Personal Aquarium
Your Personal Aquarium generates XP while you play and while you are offline, so it should be part of every leveling session. A stocked tank can produce 8,340 XP per hour online and 2,085 XP per hour offline, and it piles up until you claim it.
Open the Personal Aquarium menu at the docks and press the Claim button. A large unclaimed balance can drop tens of thousands of XP at once, on top of stacks of crafting materials and bait. Claim it every time it fills to avoid leaving XP on the table.
Stack XP boosts from friends and enchantments
The single easiest multiplier is your friend list. Open the Invite Connections menu, copy your share link, and invite people. Each of up to five friends grants a 10% XP boost, which stacks to a 50% XP bonus applied to everything you catch.
Enchantments carry the rest of the weight. Clever and Insight raise the XP you earn per catch, while Resilient and Steady reduce the progress-speed penalties that slow down mythic fish. Pair the right enchant with the right spot from the table above, and every cast counts for more.

How to confirm the XP is landing and what it unlocks
You know a catch counted when the reward flash shows a green XP number, such as +6,000xp on a Carrot Turtle or +405xp on a MAX Angelfish. The MAX! label means you pulled the top weight roll for that fish, which is when the full XP value applies.
As your level rises, powerful rods come off their locks. The No-Life Rod opens at Level 500 and the Seraphic Rod at Level 1000, both of which make later farming faster. Rotate through the Carrot Garden for steady gains, Volcanic Vents for big single hits, and your aquarium and friend bonuses for passive income, and the level bar keeps moving toward max.
