Theresia is one of ten Heretic Inquisitors in the Organa Order, and in combat that role turns into the most self-reliant Bleed and Stun engine currently in Dragonsword Awakening. She applies both status effects on her own, so she does not need a setup partner before her damage comes online. That single trait is why she anchors so many of the strongest compositions right now.
Quick answer: Build Theresia with the Merciful Death Sentence Karma, a 3-piece Ruinsbreaker plus 2-piece Holy Arbiter gear split, main stats of ATK Power Up, Critical Hit Chance and Critical DMG, and the Resolve rune. Her best team is Theresia, Roxy and Lute. Cast Consecration for Bleed, Celestial Verdict for Stun, then swap.
What Theresia does in a team
Theresia (her trait is Amplitude) fights with a pair of maces, and the weapons define her playstyle. Her swings cover a much wider arc than the rest of the melee roster, so she rarely misses against grouped enemies and still holds up against a single boss. She is not fast the way Roxy or Reina are, but every swing catches ground.
Mechanically she is a status carry. Most heroes need an ally to apply an ailment before their best damage triggers. Theresia applies Bleed and Stun herself, which makes her flexible enough to slot into almost any composition as the on-field damage dealer.

Add to Google Preferences →Theresia’s skills and Signal Skills
Her kit runs on two active skills you switch between and two Signal Skills that fire when you tag her in. The core loop is Consecration for Bleed into Celestial Verdict for Stun, then swap. The Stun opens the window for your second hero’s Signal Skill, while Holy Rise lets her drop into Airborne teams even though she is not an Airborne specialist.
| Skill | Type | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Consecration | Active | A forward slam that leaves the maces spinning, extending her basic attack chain while active. Applies Bleed. |
| Celestial Verdict | Active | Leaps and slams the ground, creating a shockwave on impact. Applies Stun. |
| Divine Arc | Signal Skill | Triggers against Stunned enemies. Closes the gap to the target and applies Bleed. Her main burst skill. |
| Holy Rise | Signal Skill | Triggers against Bleeding enemies. Reapplies Bleed and launches the target into Airborne. |
How to unlock Theresia
There is no gacha in Dragonsword Awakening, so Theresia cannot be pulled. Every hero is earned through normal play. She is one of the 11 heroes available in the Exchange Shop, where each recruit costs one Fate’s Invitation. Unlocking the full roster requires 11 invitations in total.
The quickest early route is her Hero Quest, which rewards a Fate’s Invitation. Progressing through the main story hands out more invitations as you advance. Once you have one spare, redeem it in the Exchange Shop to add her to your roster. She is a strong pick because she carries hard against early-game bosses.
Best build for Theresia
This is the current consensus endgame loadout. It assumes she is fully awakened, since her passives and enhanced kit effects are what make the crit-heavy stat line pay off. Awakening runs through six levels and uses Stigma Awakened Stone, which costs 200 Fragments of Sacred Light each from Sudden Missions. Her first node is The Mace of Branding, and her Master Skill, Grimroar, only opens at character level 30.
| Component | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Karma | Merciful Death Sentence (her exclusive Karma) |
| Gear | 3-piece Ruinsbreaker + 2-piece Holy Arbiter |
| Main Stats | ATK Power Up, Critical Hit Chance, Critical DMG |
| Substats | Additional Power, ATK Power Up, DEF Ignore |
| Rune | Resolve |
| Stat targets | ~80% Critical Hit Chance / ~150% Critical DMG |

Why this gear split works
Dragonsword Awakening uses a 3+2 set rule. You take three pieces from one set for the larger bonus and two from another for a smaller one. Ruinsbreaker is the near-universal 3-piece core because it feeds the DEF Ignore substat line, which is what actually pushes your damage through boss armour. Holy Arbiter is the 2-piece that matches Theresia’s role rather than a specific element.
Note: If you want her exclusive Karma outside the Hero Quest, it costs Fragments of Afterimage and Memory. Decide which hero you plan to main before spending, since that farming stacks up fast.
Theresia’s best team: Bleed and Stun
Theresia, Roxy and Lute is the strongest composition she anchors. It works because Theresia handles both the setup and the payoff without a third hero priming anything. Consecration applies Bleed and Celestial Verdict applies Stun.

Third slot: Lute or Castella
Lute is the default third pick. He is one of only two healers in the game, and his first Awaken node boosts party ATK, so in long fights his sustain matters more than extra control. Castella is the alternative when you want to stack more Stuns and lean into Stagger and Control, though you trade away the healing to do it.
Beginner and balanced team options
New players will not have every hero unlocked, and hard early boss fights are where most people stall. Lute, Theresia and Ornette covers the basics. Theresia and Ornette handle damage while Lute’s healing carries you through the fights that otherwise wall beginners. Nothing here demands tight combo timing, which is the point.
Treat that lineup as a foundation. Swap Ornette for Roxy to move into the full Bleed composition, or swap Theresia for Castella to shift into Stagger and Control.

When one team has to handle a wide range of content, run Theresia, Reina and Lute. The link that makes it click is Holy Rise. Reina’s kit is built entirely around Airborne targets, and Holy Rise is the Signal Skill that applies Bleed and launches the enemy into Airborne. For a more aggressive version, Theresia, Roxy and Castella keeps the Bleed-and-Stun core while Castella adds control and Super Armor Break. Use Lute when healing matters more, and Castella when you want a longer offensive Signal chain.
| Situation | Team |
|---|---|
| Strongest overall (Bleed and Stun) | Theresia + Roxy + Lute |
| New players | Lute + Theresia + Ornette |
| Balanced / wide content | Theresia + Reina + Lute |
| Aggressive alternative | Theresia + Roxy + Castella |
The build above reflects the launch meta, which is only days old, so expect patch notes to shift some values over time. The underlying logic will not change: Theresia sets up her own Bleed and Stun, hands the disabled target to a fast follow-up hero, and lets damage-over-time carry the gaps between swaps.
