Soul Shards are the crafting material that turns your plain Human Soul into the stronger colored souls in Souls Crossover X. Every shard type is tied to a specific boss, and you feed those shards into the Sans Crafting NPC alongside gold to forge a new soul.
Quick answer: Soul Shards drop from bosses, with each shard type dropping from its own matching boss. Kill the boss repeatedly to farm its shard, then take the shards to the Sans Crafting NPC with the required gold to craft that soul.

Where Soul Shards drop
Soul Shards come from bosses, not from regular monster waves or chests. Each named shard is linked to one boss, so farming a particular shard means defeating the boss connected to it over and over until the drop appears. Toriel is one of the early bosses you fight in the ruins, and pushing deeper into the worlds unlocks the tougher bosses that hold the higher-tier shards.
Because the drops are random, plan on repeated boss runs. You need two of a shard type for a single soul, so the same boss usually has to fall more than once before you have enough to craft.

All soul crafting happens at the Sans Crafting NPC. Bring the exact shards plus the gold (and, for the top tiers, gems and a level requirement) shown below. Every craftable soul except the Seven Soul needs two of one matching shard type.
| Soul | Shards needed | Other cost |
|---|---|---|
| Patience | x2 Patience Soul Shards | 50 Gold |
| Integrity | x2 Integrity Soul Shards | 1,000 Gold |
| Kindness | x2 Kindness Soul Shards | 2,500 Gold |
| Perseverance | x2 Perseverance Soul Shards | 5,000 Gold |
| Justice | x2 Justice Soul Shards | 10,000 Gold |
| Bravery | x2 Bravery Soul Shards | 25,000 Gold |
| Determination | x2 Determination Soul Shards | Level 200 + 10,000 Gold |
| Seven | x2 each of Seven, Patience, Integrity, Kindness, Perseverance, Justice, Bravery, and Determination Soul Shards | 100 Gems + 50,000 Gold |
The Seven Soul is the endgame craft. It rolls up two of every shard, including the Seven Soul Shard itself, which means you effectively have to farm the full boss roster before it is possible. That soul grants +7,777 HP and +7,777 Mana Points, making the shard grind the main gate to the strongest well-rounded setup.
Note: the Tem Soul does not use shards at all. It is bought from the Tem Shop for 100 Gems and needs Level 30 to purchase and equip, so skip the boss farming if that is the soul you want.

Gold and Gems for crafting
Shards alone will not finish a craft. Every recipe also charges gold, and the two highest tiers charge gems. You earn both by clearing monster waves and bosses, but you can top up faster by redeeming codes for free gems and gold inside the game.
1kccu for 100 Gems, Releasepart1 for 25 Gems, and sub2noctyra for 10 Gems and 100 Gold.
How to confirm a soul was crafted
When you have enough shards and currency, the Sans Crafting NPC lets you forge the soul, and the new soul is added to your inventory to equip. If the craft option is greyed out or refuses to complete, it is almost always one of these reasons:
- You are short on shards. Most souls need two of the matching type, and the Seven Soul needs two of every shard.
- You lack the gold or gems the recipe charges.
- You have not hit the level requirement, such as Level 200 for the Determination Soul.
The shard grind is repetitive, but it is deterministic. Match each shard to its boss, farm until you have a pair, and keep enough gold and gems on hand so the Sans Crafting NPC can finish the forge the moment your shards are ready.
