Mega Crit’s latest beta build for Slay the Spire 2 walks back two of the more experimental redesigns from the previous round, while layering in fresh reworks, a keyboard-only control option, and a wave of new card art. The headline moves are the returns of Mirage and Pillar of Creation, both of which lost their block-generating identities in the last update and are now back close to their original forms.
Quick answer: Patch v0.110.0 is live on the beta branch now. It restores Mirage’s poison-based block and Pillar of Creation’s per-card block, replaces the Silent’s Scare with a new energy card called Sidestep, and rebalances several cards and Ancient relics across all classes.
Mirage and Pillar of Creation return to block generation
The reworks that turned Mirage and Pillar of Creation into something else did not stick, and both are back doing what they used to. Mirage once again grants block equal to the poison on all enemies, and it no longer exhausts, so you can lean on it as a repeatable defensive tool. Pillar of Creation again gives block whenever you create a card, though it takes a small trim to 2(3) block per activation, down from 3(4).
The energy engine that Mirage briefly became is not gone. Instead, Mega Crit removed Scare, the one-use skill that applied Weak to all enemies, and dropped in Sidestep. It is a zero-cost skill that hands you one energy next turn, or two if upgraded.

Silent card changes
Beyond Mirage, the Silent sees several notable shifts. Haze now applies Weak to every enemy on top of its poison, and it costs two energy instead of three. The trade-off is that it loses the Sly tag, so you can no longer discard it to play it for free.
Well-Laid Plans, the power that lets you keep your entire hand at the end of each turn, now costs 2(1) instead of 1(0). Outbreak has been rebuilt into a three-cost skill that applies 9(12) poison to all enemies and immediately triggers the poison tick, and it moves from uncommon to rare. To make room in the pool, Echoing Slash drops down to uncommon.
Regent and Ironclad buffs
To match the Pillar of Creation revert, Regent’s Regalite Relic now grants six block from creating a card rather than two, but only once per turn. The class also picks up two straight buffs, with Terraforming producing more Vigor and Crush Under dealing more damage.
The Ironclad joins in with damage bumps to both Mangle and Pact’s End.

Necrobinder and Defect changes
Eidolon keeps its redesign into a card that plays every Ethereal card sitting in your exhaust pile, but it can no longer be generated mid-combat. That closes the door on the setups players had been using to chain it into itself. Sacrifice now gives block equal to triple Osty’s max health when you blow him up, up from double, and each use of The Scythe permanently raises its damage by 5(7) instead of 4(5).
The Defect’s Rocket Punch no longer jumps straight from two cost to zero when you create a status card. Instead it drops its cost by one each time. Three buffs offset that change. Biased Cognition gives more Focus, Refract hits harder, and Synchronize loses Exhaust on its base version, with its upgrade now raising the Focus it grants for the turn from two to three.
Ancient relic adjustments
The Ancients get a round of tuning as well. Neow’s Abundance, the card you earn from the new Dowsing Rod quest, now always offers a choice between three upgraded powers, and the upgraded version costs zero energy instead of one.
| Relic | Change in v0.110.0 |
|---|---|
| Tezcatara’s Toasty Mittens | Now exhausts a card from your hand instead of your draw pile at the start of turn for Strength (effective nerf) |
| Tezcatara’s Seal of Gold | Takes just three gold per turn to grant extra energy, down from five |
| Nonupeipe’s Beautiful Bracelet | Enchants four cards with Swift instead of three, but grants two card draw each rather than three |
| Nonupeipe’s Fur Coat | Marks one more random combat room to curse its inhabitants down to one health |
| Nonupeipe’s Signet Ring | Nerfed from 999 gold to 888 |
| Vakuu’s Fiddle | Reverted to two cards drawn at the start of turn (no further draws) |
| Pael’s Horn | Relax cards grant one more block |
| Tanx’s Whistle | Now costs two rather than three |
| Claws relic (Maul cards) | Gain 2(3) damage per use instead of 1(2) |
Art, controls, and bug fixes
Outside of balance, there is a fresh batch of card art, and all character models now show special visual effects when they enter their unique forms. The ‘Potions’ tag turns gold whenever it appears, and a bug that made some Epoch unlocks disappear and stall progression has been fixed. If you were affected, it repairs itself when you next load the game.
A keyboard-only control scheme is now available for the first time. Among the other fixes, tricks that let players read shuffle order in certain situations have been removed, uncommon cards now appear slightly more often to hit their intended rates, multiplayer softlocks are resolved, and the abandon run option shows up correctly outside of combat.
How to opt into the beta branch
Patch 0.110.0 lives on the game’s test track, so you need to switch branches to try it. These experimental changes are provisional and may shift or reverse in future builds.
Once the download finishes and the build number reads 0.110.0 in-game, you are on the current beta and will see the reverted Mirage, the new Sidestep card, and the rest of these changes in your next run.
