Palworld 1.0: How to Palmax and Build a Perfect Pal

Every stat system that turns a base capture into an endgame powerhouse, from condensation and souls to awakening, potential, and trust.

Every stat system that turns a base capture into an endgame powerhouse, from condensation and souls to awakening, potential, and trust.

A fully “palmaxxed” Pal in Palworld 1.0 is not one upgrade. It is the sum of every progression system stacked on top of a strong starting Pal. Each system caps at a fixed amount, so the strongest possible Pal is really a checklist you complete one layer at a time.

Quick answer: Breed a base Pal with good potential rolls and elite passives, then max its rank with condensation (+20%), its Attack/Defense/HP with Pal Souls at the Statue of Power (+60% each), its potential with stat fruits, its awakening at the Ancient Workbench, and its trust to level 10, then implant passives at the Pal Operating Table and teach active skills with Skill Fruits.

The systems that make a perfect Pal

Every layer feeds a different stat, and most have hard caps. Knowing the ceilings tells you when a Pal is finished. This is the full stack and what each one is worth.

Start with the right base Pal: potential and passives

Do not waste souls and duplicates on a weak foundation. Every Pal has hidden potential values from 1 to 100 for HP, Attack, and Defense, and those rolls are locked at capture or hatch. Equip the Ability Glasses to see them. You unlock the accessory at Technology Level 34, and one spawns in the world at the Astral Mountains (8, 121).

Breeding is the reliable way to combine high potential with strong passives on the same Pal. Place two parents of different genders in the Breeding Ranch with cake in its chest, then hatch eggs and keep the offspring with the best rolls and passives to use as your next parents. The best combat passive package layers stacking damage and defense boosts.

PassiveEffect
LegendAttack +20%, Defense +20%, Movement Speed +20%
Demon GodAttack +30%, Defense +5%
MuscleheadAttack +30%, Work Speed -50%
Serenity30% cooldown reduction, Attack +10%
LuckyAttack +15%, Defense +15%, Work Speed +20%

Note: Some passives cannot be bred onto certain species. If breeding cannot reach a passive, you can add it directly later at the Pal Operating Table.

Condensation: rank up to 4 stars

The Pal Essence Condenser fuses duplicates of the same species into one Pal, adding a star each time. Every star raises overall stats by 5%, for a maximum of 20% at four stars. It also lifts the partner skill to level 5 and, in 1.0, adds work suitability levels as it ranks up.

In 1.0, the total cost dropped to 48 duplicate Pals, down from 116 in Early Access. The ranks require 4, then 8, then 12, then 24 Pals. If you are short on copies, Starfruits substitute for duplicates and raise rank directly. Starfruit 1 through 4 comes from the Medal Merchant, and Ripe Starfruit comes from the Bounty Shop.

Statue of Power: enhance stats with Pal Souls

The Statue of Power raises HP, Attack, Defense, and Work Speed separately. Each stat has 20 levels, adding 3% per level up to +60%. For a combat Pal you can skip Work Speed and vice versa. Fully maxing a single stat costs 10 small, 6 medium, 6 large, and 30 giant Pal Souls.

Souls come from high-tier expeditions or from breeding and butchering specific Pals. If you run low, you can spend gold at the statue to reset a stat and recover the souls, and you can convert soul sizes at the crusher.

Awakening: flat stat boosts at the Ancient Workbench

Awakening is a late-game system unlocked at the World Tree. It grants flat stat increases through element-specific Awakening Crystals crafted at the Ancient Workbench. There are separate crystals for each element, including Water, Electric, Ground, and Dark, and each is made using Radiant Gems and World Tree Holy Water.

Potential fruits: push hidden rolls higher

You do not need perfect 100 rolls from breeding, because stat fruits raise potential after the fact. Life, Power, and Stout Fruits each add +10 potential to HP, Attack, or Defense, respectively, visible once you wear the Ability Glasses. They are rare, so a strong breed still saves a lot of farming.

Trust: reach friendship level 10

Every Pal has a trust level that grants stat bonuses up to level 10. Trust builds slowly at base, faster when the Pal is in your active party, and fastest when you pet it. Weaker Pals gain more stats per trust level than top-tier ones, which keeps favorites competitive.

Speed it up by equipping the Ring of Trust, which spawns at Mount Obsidian (-512, -207). To skip the grind entirely, feed 10 Kinship Peaches, since each peach adds one trust level.

Pal Operating Table: implant the passives you want

Unlocked at Technology Level 36, the Pal Operating Table (also called the Surgery Table) lets you install or move passive skills directly using disposable implants. This bypasses breeding for many passives, so you can finish a Pal’s four slots without endless egg cycles.

Some elite implants are one-time unlocks bought with special currency. Musclehead comes from a bounty officer for 30 bounty tokens, Artisan is also sold by the bounty officer, and Serenity is sold at the arena shop for 50 battle tickets. Each only needs to be purchased once.

Active skills: teach the right attacks

Pals learn active skills by leveling up, but you are not limited to their natural moves. Skill Fruits teach a wide selection of attacks, and any fruit can be fed to any Pal regardless of element, which opens up off-type coverage. Some skills are exclusive to specific species or only inherited through breeding.

Match skills to their element for the same-type damage bonus, which adds 20% to attacks that match the Pal’s element. Against bosses, favor accurate single-target skills over wide area attacks, which often miss or deal weak per-hit damage.

Leveling: reach the cap fast

Levels raise overall stats and unlock a Pal’s full skill set, and Pals are capped to your own character level, which reaches 80 in 1.0. Boss fights, capturing, and base work all feed experience. Training Manuals hand XP directly to a Pal, so save them for underleveled captures and fresh hatches.

Several tools accelerate the climb. The Growth Acceleration Bell accessory spawns at Mount Flopie (-26, -92), Omascul’s Masquerade Dance grants +80% EXP at skill level 5, and food buffs stack on top.

Party buffs, accessories, and booster Pals

The final layer sits outside the Pal itself. A team holds up to five Pals, and partner skills apply team-wide effects. Booster Pals in your active party add element-specific damage multipliers, such as Demon Eye granting up to +30% damage for Dark Pals.

Each Pal equips up to four accessories, including elemental whistles that come in two tiers for both offense and defense. Food, base research, and bounty tokens add further temporary and permanent boosts. Stack these on top of a finished Pal, and you have hit the practical ceiling for endgame combat.

None of this is required to beat the game, and a single Pal only needs the layers that matter for its job. But if you want the strongest possible version of a favorite, work down the list in order, confirm each cap is reached, and stop once the stat screen stops climbing.
