Mistfall Hunter Blackarrow Build: Best Skills, Talents, and Affixes

The bow loadout, talent picks, and gear affixes that keep the marksman dealing damage from range in solo and trio runs.

The bow loadout, talent picks, and gear affixes that keep the marksman dealing damage from range in solo and trio runs.

The Blackarrow is the dedicated bow class in Mistfall Hunter, built to open fights from a distance and stack status effects before enemies ever reach you. It hits hardest when you control spacing, but it also folds fast once a melee class closes the gap. The loadout below leans into that reality, mixing damage-over-time arrows, crowd control for when you get rushed, and talents that keep your energy and mobility topped up.

Quick answer: Run Paralysis Arrow and Bloodfly Arrow with Scattershot, Impact Grenade, and Predator’s Senses. Take the Measured Pace, Marksman, Dodge Power Shot, Rapid Barrage, and Blood Infection talents, then chase Valor, Vitality, and Elusive affixes on your gear.

Best Blackarrow skills and arrows

The build centers on two arrow types working together. Paralysis Arrow drops an area mist that applies Exhausted, while Bloodfly Arrow tags a target with damage over time and drifts to the nearest enemy if you miss. Between the two, anything that walks toward you is already Exhausted and bleeding out before it arrives. The combo also helps flush out enemies who try to slip into Stealth mid-fight.

The rest of the kit is about surviving the moment things go wrong. Scattershot and Impact Grenade both exist for when you get swarmed, and Predator’s Senses covers the Blackarrow’s biggest weakness against players who try to sneak in close.

SkillWhat it does
Paralysis ArrowCreates an AoE mist that applies the Exhausted debuff to enemies inside it.
Bloodfly ArrowApplies blood flies that deal damage over time; the flies redirect to the closest enemy on a miss.
ScattershotFires 7 arrows in a wide spread that deal damage and knock enemies back, ideal for breaking up a group closing on you.
Impact GrenadeSticks to a surface and detonates on command, knocking back nearby enemies.
Predator’s Senses (PvP)Reveals the trail of undetectable enemies. It has limited uses per match, so swap it for Shadow Step if you’d rather use Stealth yourself.

Note: Predator’s Senses and Shadow Step fill the same slot in practice. Keep Predator’s Senses when you’re the one getting hunted, or slot Shadow Step when you want to reposition and reset an engagement on your own terms.

Best Blackarrow talents

The talent picks solve the Blackarrow’s two recurring problems, thin energy and getting caught during a swap. Measured Pace refunds energy on fully drawn shots, which matters because the class has almost no other quick regen. Dodge Power Shot turns your roll into an offensive move, and Rapid Barrage patches the damage penalty that comes with it. Blood Infection is what ties the arrow combo together, converting Bloodfly hits into detonatable Swarm stacks.

TalentEffect
Measured PaceWith at least 2 Archer’s Arrows, firing a fully drawn arrow recovers Energy.
MarksmanFully drawn arrows home in on enemies near the crosshair for light aim assist against fast targets.
Dodge Power ShotTurns your dodge roll into an attack; shooting right after a dodge fires a quick-charge arrow. Costs extra Energy and has a cooldown and lower damage multiplier.
Rapid BarrageRaises the damage multiplier of quick shots, offsetting the penalty from Dodge Power Shot.
Blood InfectionBloodfly Arrow hits generate Swarm stacks; a fully drawn arrow of another type detonates them for bonus damage.

The full damage loop runs through Blood Infection. Tag a target with Bloodfly Arrow to build Swarm, then finish with a fully drawn Paralysis Arrow or a standard charged shot to pop the stacks. That detonation is where a lot of the build’s burst comes from.

Best affixes for Blackarrow gear

Prioritize Valor above everything else. It raises your attack and grants defense penetration, so you push through enemy damage reduction instead of bouncing off it. Vitality comes next because more maximum Energy directly feeds a class that struggles to regenerate it. Elusive rounds out the priority by cutting dodge cost, which you’ll lean on constantly since almost every threat wants to close distance and force you into dodge-and-riposte trades.

AffixWhy it matters
ValorImproves attack and adds defense penetration to bypass damage reduction.
VitalityIncreases maximum Energy, covering the class’s weak energy regen.
ElusiveReduces dodge cost, letting you reposition and riposte more often.

How to play the Blackarrow in a fight

Open every engagement with the arrow combo. Land Paralysis Arrow to Exhaust the group, then feed in Bloodfly Arrow for damage over time. By the time enemies reach you, they’re weakened and taking chip damage, and the flies will hunt down anyone trying to cloak. Full draws matter here, since Measured Pace only refunds energy and Marksman only assists your aim when you commit to a charged shot.

When you get ganked, that’s what Scattershot and Impact Grenade are for. Both push enemies off you with knockback and buy the space you need to reset. Instead of rolling away empty-handed, use Dodge Power Shot to fire back mid-dodge, so retreating still deals damage. Getting the first hit in a PvP exchange is often the whole fight, so hold angles and pre-aim the lanes enemies are likely to push through.

Solo and trio adjustments

In a trio, the Blackarrow sits behind melee frontliners like the Mercenary or Withered Knight and picks off targets before they can act. Keep Predator’s Senses active so you can call out enemies who go into Stealth, and hold sightlines during portal fights rather than standing on the extraction pad.

Solo runs demand more caution because nobody covers your flanks. Watch your surroundings so nothing sneaks up while you’re aiming, and lean harder on the knockback tools to peel enemies off. The build stays the same, but the priority shifts toward playing safe lanes and disengaging early rather than chasing every kill.

The Blackarrow rewards patience over flashy plays. Land your charged shots, keep the arrow combo rolling, and treat every dodge as a chance to reposition rather than just survive. Master that spacing and the class turns ranged pressure into a real problem for anyone chasing you across the Gyldenmist.
