Beast of Reincarnation: How to Respec Your Skills and Attributes

Save Mikoto near the end of Chapter 2 to unlock Amber-priced resets for both Emma and Koo.

Respec in Beast of Reincarnation means paying a character named Mikoto to refund your spent Attribute and Skill points so you can rebuild Emma and Koo from scratch. It is not a menu toggle you can flip from the start, and it stays locked until you reach a fixed point in the story.

Quick answer: Save Mikoto near the end of Chapter 2, return to the Cleanse Walker, use the Communicator (phone) to call him, and select “Reset Attributes” for either Emma or Koo. Each reset costs Amber.

Unlock the respec option in Chapter 2

The ability to reset your build becomes available toward the end of Chapter 2. It is tied to meeting Mikoto, a young grey-haired man who is also touched by the Blight. Depending on your difficulty and how much side content you clear, most players reach him somewhere around the 7 to 10 hour mark.

Progress the main story until the Chapter 2 objective called “Power the Gate.” Exit the Reservoir and follow the quest marker.
Find Mikoto fighting an Elite enemy. Rescue him by defeating the Level 12 Agile Golem. Afterward, he explains that he can reset and change your skills, and tells you to call him if you need his help.
Return to the Cleanse Walker at the end of the chapter. The Communicator on the wall near the exit door is now unlocked, which is your confirmation that the feature is active.

Reset your points from the Cleanse Walker

Once Mikoto is available, you can respec any time you are aboard the Cleanse Walker. The process takes only a few seconds.

Interact with the Communicator (the phone) and choose to call Mikoto. You will see two options, “Talk” and “Reset Attributes.”
Select “Reset Attributes.” Then pick whether you want to reset Emma’s attributes or Koo’s attributes. Each character is handled separately, so you can reset one without touching the other.
Confirm the cost in Amber. Your points are returned immediately, and you can reallocate them in the Cleanse Walker or at any Camp.

You know it worked when your stats revert to their base values and the affected skills empty out, leaving your Skill points free to spend again.

What a reset returns and what stays

A reset refunds nearly all of your Attribute points and Skill points, and it clears the lower half, or “roots,” of the Skill Tree. The deeper Nushi Skills sit on a different tier and behave differently.

Note: Because the branch-level Nushi Skills remain in place, a respec is best used to rework your stat spread and your core root skills, then re-focus into one or two sets of Blade Arts or Bloom Arts for a specific fight.

Amber cost and repeat resets

The price is paid in Amber and scales with how heavily you have invested. Every Attribute point you have spent adds 100 Amber to the total. So 36 invested Attribute points comes to 3,600 Amber for that reset. The number of Skill points you have accrued does not raise the price, and those are refunded all the same.

In practice the cost stays modest relative to how much Amber you accumulate. It is common to be sitting on tens of thousands of Amber by the midgame, so the fee is rarely a real obstacle. You can respec as many times as you like, provided you can pay, by calling Mikoto from the Cleanse Walker and repeating the same steps.

Because the feature is uncapped, treat it as a flexible tool rather than a one-time decision. If a boss punishes your current setup, reset, pour points into the stats and skills that counter it, and switch back afterward when it suits you.
