How Many Dudes: How to Beat Tier 3 and the Final Boss

The team roles, Relics, and food choices that carry a run through Tier 3's two-phase boss fight.

The team roles, Relics, and food choices that carry a run through Tier 3’s two-phase boss fight.

Tier 3 is the hardest layer in How Many Dudes?, and it punishes any run that leaves a job uncovered. Before you even get here, you have to win at the lower difficulties and bank enough Gold Stars to unlock the higher tiers. Once you qualify, clearing Tier 3 comes down to a balanced five-Dude team, the right Relics, and a plan for the two-phase boss waiting at the end.

Quick answer: Run one Taunt tank, one Support (Assassin Dude for debuffs), two Healers, and one DPS. Prioritize Vault, Loaded Dice, and healing Relics, feed food that matches each role, then save your Meteor for the boss’s second phase when it does damage.

Build one Dude for each of the four jobs

Tier 3 leaves almost no room for mistakes, so your five slots need to cover damage, protection, sustain, and buffs. A team that stacks carries with no front line falls apart fast against the tougher enemies here. The composition below spreads your roster across every role that matters.

RoleCountJob
Tank1A tank with Taunt forces enemies to attack one unit, protecting squishy Dudes and making healing simpler.
Support1Buffs allies and debuffs enemies. The Assassin Dude fits well thanks to the debuffs he applies.
Healers2Two healers keep your single tank and single damage dealer alive through long fights.
DPS1Provides the sustained damage you need so runs don’t drag on and end early.

Relics that hold a Tier 3 run together

A few Relics do heavy lifting at this difficulty by boosting your economy and keeping your team upright. Grab these when they appear and shape the rest of your picks around your active roster.

RelicEffect
VaultAdds a 15% chance for a double payout after you win a battle.
Loaded DiceGives you two Pocket Dice at 50% off, with a 50% chance the Pocket Dice isn’t consumed on use.
Healing RelicsPick these up as the run goes on to keep your team alive through longer fights.

Always buy Dice when you have spare resources to refresh the shop and surface Relics that fit your current lineup. Lend Relics and give away both options unless the offer includes one of the picks above.

Match food items to each role

Food stacks the right stats onto the right Dudes, and picking the wrong ones wastes the run’s most valuable buffs. Feed each role the stats it actually uses.

HealersDamage, attack speed, crit chance
Buff/DebuffEvasion, attack speed
TankToughness, deflect, HP

Invest your resources whenever you can to strengthen the roster.

Run habits that carry you to the boss

How you play between fights matters as much as the build itself. Three habits keep your roster ahead of Tier 3’s scaling.

  • Fight the harder enemy whenever your roster strength can handle it.
  • Invest your resources every time you get the chance.
  • Stack as many Relics as possible before the final boss, and keep your roster large.

Beat the two-phase Tier 3 boss

The final battle at Tier 3 splits into two phases. If you’ve built the team above and gathered enough Relics, the first phase is manageable and mostly tests whether every job on your team is working.

The second phase is where the fight turns nasty. The boss can trigger a knockback wave and summon extra enemies to overwhelm you. Save your Meteor for the moments it deals damage, and keep a few healing items in reserve so you can steady the team when the adds pile up.

Note: Tier 3’s exact requirements and encounter details can shift, so read the live Tier screen in-game for the current numbers before you commit to a run. Clear both phases and the run is complete, banking the higher-tier rewards that also backfill Stars on the lower tiers you skipped.
