The True Ending in Night Crew is a hidden path that replaces the normal rift close with a face-to-face encounter against Dread. It is also called the Secret Ending, and it hinges on three symbols hidden across the dimensions plus a matching set of wheels at the Rift Source. Get the alignment and the offering right before you close the rift, and the run ends in the Nightmare Realm instead of a routine escape.
Quick answer: Find one rune in each Intermediate Dimension and note its color and inner shape. At the Rift Source, rotate each colored wheel so its arrow points to the shape from the matching-color rune. Pull the lever, walk into the opened room, and select “Make offering” before you close the rift. In a party, every player must make the offering.

What the True Ending needs before you start
Night Crew is a cooperative survival horror game from Evil Twin Games for up to four players, currently in beta. A normal run has you collecting anomalies, evading entities, and closing the rift to escape. The True Ending is a separate outcome layered on top of that same rift close, so you still finish the standard objective at the end.
The trigger revolves around three colored symbols found in the Intermediate Dimensions, which include the four named maps below. Each map’s runes are identical within that dimension, so a single sighting per map is enough.
| Dimension | Rune spots per map | What to record |
|---|---|---|
| PRG Antarctic Research Base | Up to 4 | Rune color and inner shape |
| Chuckles’ Fun Zone | Up to 4 | Rune color and inner shape |
| Murder Manor | Up to 3 | Rune color and inner shape |
| Tomb of the Scarab King | Up to 2 | Rune color and inner shape |
Note: rune shapes are randomized per game, so the exact symbol you see will differ from anyone else’s. Write down or screenshot each one as you find it, because you will need the color-to-shape pairing at the wheels.

Make the offering before closing the rift
[E] Make an offering prompt.
How you know it worked
When the rift closes after a valid offering, your character is knocked out and wakes inside the Nightmare Realm. A cutscene plays where Dread introduces himself and explains his plan to feed on fear and manifest in the physical world. A chase sequence follows, and once you clear it, O.L.L.I.E. initiates a cognitive reboot that wipes the crew’s memory of the events.
Completing this outcome awards the True Ending badge, which is far rarer than a normal map clear. Related public milestones include The Offering, plus the rift badges for closing one rift and five rifts, so treat those as confirmation that the secret route is registering.
Why the True Ending fails to trigger
- A wheel points at the wrong symbol, so it does not match the rune of that color.
- The rift was closed before the offering was made at the hidden room.
- One or more party members skipped the offering; all players must complete it.
- The final rift interaction was not finished, so the ending sequence never starts.
If a run reaches the offering room but the ending still does not play, recheck the wheel alignment against your recorded runes and confirm every crew member offered before anyone touched the rift. Since Night Crew is in beta, routes can shift after updates, so verify wheel and offering behavior against the live objective each run.
