Release date, gacha rates, pre-registration rewards, and how the tactical auto-battler plays before you download it.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Spirit is an officially licensed mobile RPG that turns six generations of the Joestar bloodline into a tactical auto-battler. Developed by KLab Games and Wanda Cinemas Games, it pulls characters and Stands from Parts 1 through 6 and builds fights around team placement, real-time weather, and skill synergy rather than raw stats.

Quick answer: Golden Spirit launches worldwide (excluding Japan) on August 13, 2026, free to play on iOS and Android. Pre-register on the official pre-registration site or reserve it on the app stores so it auto-installs, and hitting the 2 million registration milestone unlocks a free SR Joseph Joestar for everyone.

Release date, platforms, and price

The global launch is set for August 13, 2026, everywhere except Japan. The game is free to download on both iOS and Android and includes in-app purchases. The exact launch hour has not been confirmed, so treat any specific server time as unannounced until the developers state it.

The English version was revealed on May 8, 2026, and a closed beta test ran from May 15 to May 29, 2026. You can reserve it now on the Google Play listing or the App Store listing.

How the combat works

Golden Spirit is a 3D strategy auto-battler. You build a team on a multi-tile formation grid, then units attack automatically and charge energy for Ultimates that you can trigger manually or leave on auto. The design leans on two ideas the developers call “Wit” and “Combat.” Wit rewards knowing matchups, so Ripple users deal extra damage to zombie and vampire enemies. Combat rewards pairing abilities, such as combining a mold-spreading passive with a skill that turns the ground to mud for wider crowd control.

An environment system adds 18 dynamic battlefield conditions, including breezes, strong winds, blowing sand, rain, and heavy snow. Weather changes affect every unit on the field and can favor specific plans. Blizzards slow attack speed and chip damage during movement, while heavy fog cuts the range and damage of ranged units, opening the door for melee squads. Some characters interact with weather directly, so Squalo gains attack range in rain and Narancia ignores range reduction from fog and sandstorms.

Character-specific mechanics echo the source material. Mista’s accuracy drops on his fourth attack, and Diavolo can start a battle concealed to open with an ambush. A minigame called Crossing Ghoul Street layers in chess-like grid movement puzzles on top of the standard stages.

Fighting styles and RUSH mode

Every unit belongs to one of six fighting styles, each with its own passive effect. All six also share the RUSH trigger. Once three characters of different combat styles fire their Ultimates, a unit enters RUSH mode for 10 seconds, gaining a 25% final damage bonus plus a small energy restore. That shared condition is why a balanced spread of styles matters more than stacking one type.

Fighting styleSignature effect
Defense30% damage reduction for the first 5 seconds of each battle
AssaultBelow 40% HP, a basic attack heals 150% of Attack (once every 10 seconds)
AgilityTargets the opposite enemy, +5% Crit when untargeted, enters 3s Stealth below 60% HP
Ranged+5% damage for every 1 tile of distance from the target
SpecialA basic attack restores 20% of Max Energy (once every 10 seconds)
SupportHeals an ally 10% of Max HP when they fall below 30% (once every 10 seconds)

Gacha rates and pity system

Units come in three rarities: R, SR, and SSR. The rates are transparent, and there are two safety nets. A random SSR is guaranteed every 60 recruitments, and a selector that lets you pick any SSR from the featured pool arrives at 180 total pulls.

RarityBase drop rateNotes
SSR2.00%2.85% including the guarantee
SR35.00%
R63.00%

Note: The selector ticket is worth planning around. If your first meaningful pity lands at 60 and you keep going, the choose-any-SSR reward at 180 pulls means a targeted unit is reachable even through unlucky sessions.

Pre-registration rewards

Signing up before launch feeds a set of community milestones. As registration totals climb, the whole player base unlocks currency and starter materials, capped by a free SR Joseph Joestar at 2 million. A separate social milestone adds 1,000 Astrogems when the accounts reach 1 million followers.

200K registrations20 Stone of Destiny

Characters and roster coverage

The launch cast spans over 50 characters, with the six lead JoJos front and center: Jonathan Joestar, Joseph Joestar, Jotaro Kujo, Josuke Higashikata, Giorno Giovanna, and Jolyne Cujoh. Antagonists and supporting Stand users fill out the pool, including DIO, Diavolo, Prosciutto, Bruno Bucciarati, and Koichi Hirose. Duplicate pulls convert into fragments that raise a unit’s Star, so extra copies still push progression.

Story mode arranges stages to follow the anime’s plot, with early test content built around the Golden Wind arc and cinematic recreations of famous moments rendered in 3D and Live2D. Anime composer Yugo Kanno wrote the game’s theme, keeping the presentation close to the series.

What to do before you play

Pre-register on the official site or reserve the app on iOS and Android so it downloads automatically at launch. This also counts toward the community milestones that hand out currency and the free SR Joseph Joestar.
Decide on your target unit before the first pulls. Because a selector at 180 pulls lets you choose any featured SSR, it is worth knowing which SSR anchors the team you want to build around.
Plan a balanced formation across the six fighting styles. RUSH mode only activates after three different styles use their Ultimates, so spreading your roster out matters more than doubling up on one type.

You will know pre-registration worked when the account or store confirmation appears and the reserved app shows up in your library ready to install. On launch day, milestone rewards land in your in-game mailbox rather than being applied automatically, so check it after your first login to claim the Astrogems, currency, and starter units.
