Cross-progression in Mistfall Hunter is the ability to carry the same character, stash, and currency between platforms. Crossplay lets people on different systems raid together, but that is a separate feature. Knowing the difference decides where you should invest your hours.
Quick answer: Mistfall Hunter does not support cross-progression between Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox. Your account only travels between Xbox console and the Xbox app on PC through Xbox Play Anywhere. Pick one main platform before you sink serious time into a character.

Cross-progression status by platform
All three launch platforms share one server pool for both PvE raids and PvP, so a Steam, PS5, and Xbox player can drop into the same run. What none of that shares is your save data. The only progress link that exists sits entirely inside the Xbox family.
| Platform pairing | Progress shared? | How |
|---|---|---|
| Steam ↔ PlayStation 5 | No | Separate saves; nothing transfers |
| Steam ↔ Xbox | No | Separate saves; nothing transfers |
| PlayStation 5 ↔ Xbox | No | Separate saves; nothing transfers |
| Xbox console ↔ Xbox on PC | Yes | Xbox Play Anywhere for eligible purchases |
Bellring Games has stated that platforms outside the Xbox ecosystem do not currently support cross-progression. Xbox Play Anywhere is the exception because purchases, saves, and achievements move between an Xbox console and the same title in the Xbox PC app. That is not the same as syncing a Steam or PlayStation account.

Add to Google Preferences →What does not transfer between platforms
Because there is no shared save between Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox, effectively everything you earn stays tied to the platform where the character was created. Buying the game a second time on another system starts you from zero.
| Progress type | Transfers? |
|---|---|
| Characters and character level | No |
| Inventory and stash | No |
| Gold and Gyldenblod currency | No |
| Equipment and gear | No |
| Camp upgrades | No |
| Quest progress and unlocks | No |
| Cosmetics | No |
Owning two copies does not merge or link accounts. Each platform keeps its own independent save, so a PC economy and a PS5 economy never touch. Plan your primary platform before you commit heavy investment into Camp Upgrades or Auction House listings.

Twitch Drops and mail follow the platform account
Rewards obey the same platform boundary as your save. Twitch Drops and compensation mail bind to the account you link and play on, not to your character across systems. Linking Twitch to Steam will not deliver cosmetics to a PlayStation character.
The same rule applies to any beta or event reclaim. Same store identity means same platform, so claim rewards on the account you intend to keep playing.
Playing with friends still works across platforms
The lack of cross-progression does not stop you from squadding up. Crossplay is on by default across PC, PS5, and Xbox, and parties run solo, duo, or trio in any platform mix. Friends are added through an in-game Player ID rather than Steam, PSN, or Xbox friend lists, which do not sync into the game.

Choosing your main platform
Since a character cannot move later, the platform you start on is effectively permanent. Base the choice on where your friends already play and how you want to play, because crossplay removes the platform barrier for grouping anyway.
| Platform | Best for | Online requirement |
|---|---|---|
| PC (Steam) | Higher frame rates, graphics settings, mouse and keyboard | None |
| PlayStation 5 | Console play with DualSense support | PS Plus for online |
| Xbox Series X|S | Day-one Game Pass access and Play Anywhere save sharing | Game Pass Core or Ultimate |
If flexibility between an Xbox console and a PC matters most, the Xbox route is the only path that keeps one character across two devices. For everyone on Steam or PlayStation, the safest move is to commit to a single platform and stay there. The game is available on Steam and on the Xbox store, including Game Pass for PC and Xbox.
Will cross-progression arrive later?
Nothing has been officially announced. Bellring Games has an active post-launch roadmap covering new content, classes, combat changes, and quality-of-life work, but shared saves across Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox are not confirmed as a planned feature.
Until that changes, treat your progress as platform-specific. Your characters, gear, currency, and unlocks stay exclusive to the system where you made them, so choose the platform you expect to play the most and build your account there.
