Space is the real constraint inside a Palworld base radius, and version 1.0.2.101103 gives you enough placement tools to fit an entire production chain into a footprint that used to hold a single furnace row. The trick is combining grid snapping with temporary furniture supports, then hiding non-interactive structures so Pals never waste travel time. Everything below works with the current build.
Quick answer: Turn on Axis Alignment Mode (Ctrl on PC) to snap pieces to the grid, place a temporary support like a Wooden Bench, Fireplace, or Japanese Floor Cushion, snap the real facility on top of it, then delete the support. Repeat downward to stack furnaces, farms, beds, hot springs, and chests vertically.

Axis Alignment Mode and temporary snap points
Axis Alignment Mode is the foundation of every space-saving layout. Pressing Ctrl on PC forces structures to snap cleanly to the build grid, which lets you line up benches, chests, and stations perfectly instead of fighting free placement. With it enabled, you can stack multiple Wooden Benches on top of each other and use them as scaffolding.
Fences work as disposable alignment guides too. Drop a Stone Fence or Wooden Fence in a straight run, snap your chests to it, then remove the fence so the containers stay in a tidy line. Downward Pillars extend this idea in the other direction, letting you build hanging structures beneath a floating floor or rock.
Note: Wood and Japanese-style pieces have low structural health and can catch fire, while metal and Ancient Civilization structures survive far more damage. Use Paint Mode (P on PC) to recolor stone, glass, and wood foundations, and add spaces on either side of Sign text to shrink the font when a label is too large.

Add to Google Preferences →Which support stacks each facility
Different facilities need different height matches, so the support furniture changes depending on what you are stacking. The pattern is always the same: place the support, snap the real building, delete the support, move down a level.
| Facility | Temporary support to stack it |
|---|---|
| Crop Plantations | Wooden Bench, or Japanese Floor Cushion for a tighter stack |
| Ancient Furnace | Fireplace |
| Ancient Pal Bed | Japanese Floor Cushion (delete after placing) |
| Ancient Farm | Fireplace and Wooden Bench combined to match height |
| Ancient Hot Spring | Three Fireplaces |
| Metal Chest | Tidy Square Table |
| Advanced Chest | Wooden Bench |

Hidden and inaccessible structures that still work
Several base structures deliver their benefit without a Pal physically reaching them, which frees you to hide them for aesthetics or to cut transport time. This behavior is consistent in 1.0, though essential multi-worker stations should still stay reachable for reliable production.
- Chests hidden behind walls receive items instantly. If a Pal cannot path to the chest, the item teleports straight in.
- Ranches placed in inaccessible spots still work. Pals graze and drop materials immediately even when they cannot walk to the pen.
- Pal beds do not need physical access. Sealed-off beds still grant SAN and health recovery.
- Campfires make cheap, maintenance-free, electricity-free lights that you can tuck behind a wall.
To keep hauling short, place a chest right next to each resource node so Pals drop mined ore or wood with almost no travel. The Item Retrieval Machine lets you pull from every chest in the base at one console, so a scattered storage layout stays convenient for you.

Chest filtering and worker control
Chest Settings (V on PC) filter what Pals may deposit, so a container only accepts the resource you assign to it. The Private Lock Enabled option under Security Settings stops Pals from dropping anything in a chest, reserving it for your personal gear.
The Monitoring Stand manages work preferences and fixed assignments. You can disable a specific work role on a Pal, for example turning off mining on Anubis so it commits fully to handiwork. Run separate Expedition Stations across multiple bases to send Pals on parallel routes.
Tip: Alpha Sekhmet is bugged to carry far higher work speed percentages and to apply them permanently to herself, making her an outsized worker until that changes.
Unusual base locations and oil setups
Flat land is optional once you understand foundations. You can extend foundations over open water to create a massive level platform for an ocean mega base, or hang a base off the side of floating rocks using downward pillars.
A base at Oasis Isle, at map coordinates 910, 193, sits on natural Kinship Peach spawns, which is useful for expedition rewards and breeding. For oil, you can fit two Crude Oil Extractors on a single node by carefully aligning each one against opposite edges of the node.
Breeding scales the same way as production. Stack breeding farms across multiple stories to multiply egg output inside one radius rather than spreading pens across the ground.

Ancient facilities for the endgame
Ancient-tier buildings compress older production lines into faster, higher-health versions. Once they unlock, rebuild around them instead of piling new machines beside the obsolete ones.
| Ancient facility | What it does |
|---|---|
| Ancient Hatchery (level 76) | Incubates eggs at high speed; Broncherry, Broncherry Aqua, and Grintale partner skills do not affect it |
| Ancient Furnace, Workbench, Kitchen | High-durability upgrades to core crafting and cooking stations |
| Ancient Monitoring Stand | Improved SAN management over the standard stand |
| Ancient Clinic | With a Medicine Pal and the Monitoring Stand, sustains the base on extra hard work mode |
| Ancient Pal Bed | Top-tier recovery bed, stackable with cushions |
Combining the Ancient Clinic with a dedicated Medicine Production Pal and an upgraded Monitoring Stand is what lets a base run at maximum work intensity without SAN collapse. Pair that recovery loop with the stacking methods above, and a single base radius can hold your entire late-game production, storage, breeding, and oil operation without a Pal ever getting stuck in a corridor.
