AC Black Flag Resynced: How to Obtain Ocelot Pelt (Ocelot Location)

Ocelot Pelt is a land wildlife product in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and the first animal skin you are pushed to collect once hunting and crafting open up. You can either track ocelots in the wild or pay for pelts at a General Store, which makes it one of the easier materials to stock up on early.

Quick answer: Hunt ocelots on Abaco Island or in Cumberland Bay and skin them, or buy Ocelot Pelt from any General Store for 3 Bones each after fully upgrading the General Store in Great Inagua.

Ocelot locations: Abaco Island and Cumberland Bay

Ocelots spawn in two areas, so you do not need to hunt the whole map. Abaco Island is where the material first becomes relevant, and Cumberland Bay works as a backup hunting ground if the local ocelots have already been cleared out.

Crafting unlocks on Abaco Island during the 8th main mission, This Tyro Captain. From that point, Ocelot Pelt becomes the first animal skin the game asks you to gather, so hunting a few ocelots there doubles as a natural introduction to skinning.

Tip: Equip the Exotic Sea Shells trinket before skinning. It doubles the animal products you receive, so each ocelot yields more pelts per kill.

Buy Ocelot Pelt from a General Store

If you would rather skip the hunt, any General Store can sell you Ocelot Pelt for Bones. This option is not available from the start. You need to fully upgrade the General Store in Great Inagua before the pelt appears in the shop.

What Ocelot Pelt is used for

Ocelot Pelt feeds into gear crafting and one cosmetic outfit. The most important use is the Pistol Holster, since maxing that upgrade is required before Edward can perform his Gun Kata combat move.

Feline Pelt Outfit (Rare)Ocelot Pelt x2, plus Jaguar Pelt x6, Black Jaguar Pelt x2, and White Jaguar Pelt x1 from the Treasure Dealer

Because you only need two pelts for the level 1 Pistol Holster, a single hunting trip on Abaco Island is usually enough to cover the essential upgrade. Any leftover pelts can go toward the Feline Pelt Outfit or straight into your coin purse. Higher Pistol Holster tiers move on to Rabbit Pelt and Bull Shark Skin, so you will not keep sinking Ocelot Pelt into that gear line.
