Every viewpoint, chest, secret, animal, and the treasure map hidden across Cape Bonavista in the 2026 remake.

Cape Bonavista is one of the early islands in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Resynced, and it holds 14 collectibles spread across its beaches, jungle, and a large cave in the south. Most items appear on your map once you get close or synchronize a viewpoint, so clearing this island is mostly about tracking down each marker.

Quick answer: Sync both Cape Bonavista viewpoints to reveal the markers, then collect the 2 chests, 3 secrets, 1 song sheet, 1 Mayan Stelae, 1 data file, and hunt all 3 animals. The island’s coordinates are 155, 591.

All Cape Bonavista collectible locations

Sync both viewpoints first. That marks the chests, secret, song sheet, and other icons on your world map, which makes the cleanup much faster. Use the table below to reach each one.

#CollectibleLocation
1Chest (Money)North-east of the island, near the shipwreck.
2Secret (Letter: “The Observatorie”)North-east side of the island, near the river.
3Secret (Treasure Map from Cape Bonavista)On the corpse at the cave entrance.
4Mayan StelaeOn the pillar; align the pattern to reveal the location.
5Data FileAt the top of the small waterfall.
6Song Sheet (“So Early In The Morning”)Between two branches; chase it until it lands.
7Chest (Money)On the wooden platform next to the lift.
8Secret (Diamond Trinket, Common Trinket)At the bottom of the river near the viewpoint.
10Viewpoint 1Synchronize to reveal nearby markers.
11Viewpoint 2Synchronize to reveal nearby markers.
12JaguarHuntable animal.
13Howler MonkeyHuntable animal.
14Wild PigHuntable animal.

The song sheet at spot #6 will drift away when you get near it. Keep chasing it and it will eventually settle so you can pick it up. The Diamond Trinket at #8 sits underwater, so dive to the bottom of the river beside the viewpoint to grab it.

Mayan Stelae puzzle solution

The single Mayan Stelae here uses the usual alignment puzzle. Climb onto the pillar and line up the larger circle with the base of the pillar. Then scale the pattern down until it locks into place, which reveals the hidden location tied to the stela.

Cape Bonavista treasure map solution

Collectible #3 is a treasure map picked up from the corpse at the cave entrance. The dig site it points to is also on Cape Bonavista, at coordinates 146, 587.

Head to the beach in the south of Cape Bonavista and enter the large cave there.
Follow the cave all the way to the end. The treasure sits in a small puddle of water at the back, ready to dig up.

How to confirm 100% completion

Each island in Black Flag Resynced has its own completion tracker. When you have grabbed all 14 items, Cape Bonavista’s tracker will show a full count and no collectible icons will remain on the map. If an icon is still showing, open the map and press D-Pad Down to filter by collectible type, which quickly tells you whether it is a chest, secret, animal, or something else you still need.

Cape Bonavista is the first stop in the Dry Tortuga region, so finishing it early gives you a clean start before moving on to Havana and the rest of the Caribbean.
