What Agefield High: Rock the School is

This is a single-player, third-person action-adventure set in 2002 in the fictional town of Agefield. You play as Sam Tatum, a new student who transfers in during the final stretch before graduation. Sam falls in with two classmates, Kale and Axel, and signs on to their scheme to become high school legends before prom.

The world is a compact open map rather than a sprawling sandbox. You roam the school campus, two neighborhoods, the town center, and the surrounding countryside, mostly by bicycle. The main story runs roughly 8 to 10 hours across 30-plus main missions, with two different endings and around 15 side missions and activities.

The “Rock the School” plan

The story is driven by Kale’s three-step plan, which the game presents as hand-drawn notebook sketches. It gives the campaign its structure and its tone.

  • Step 1: Kick the jocks’ ass
  • Step 2: Throw a monster party
  • Step 3: Charm the prettiest girls and make prom a hit

Chasing that plan means picking fights with rivals, running from adults, pursuing romance, and eventually attending prom in a tuxedo.

How the day-to-day gameplay works

Time and school system

Use the calendar and clock to check the weekday and school timetable. Classes are expected on weekdays through the afternoon, with five subjects available: English, Math, Geography, German, and Music. Attend lessons and earn pocket money with good grades, or skip them to explore and earn cash from side missions. If you break the rules, watch for teachers and the police.

Getting around and evading adults

The bicycle is your main transport, with Move, Boost, Jump, and Exit controls. Many missions involve racing to class on time or outrunning authority figures such as Mr. Rogers.

Combat

Fighting is intentionally simple, built around Punch, Kick, Push, and Block. Brawls show up in the cafeteria, on the playground, and around campus against rivals. There is no deep combo system to master.

Chores and minigames

Between missions you take on odd jobs and small activities, from mowing lawns (tracked as a “Cut grass” percentage) to sneaking through backyards and running errands. These fill out the world and earn extra cash.

Customizing Sam

Cash earned in the world goes toward Sam’s appearance. Shops let you buy clothes, bikes, hairstyles, tattoos, and accessories, with menu categories covering Outfit, Head, Face, and Neck. It is customization for look and personality rather than stats, so this is not a role-playing game.

Maturity rating and content

The game leans hard into raunchy early-2000s teen-comedy territory and carries a PEGI 16 rating. Its content includes mild violence without blood, crude humor, references to suicide, alcohol consumption, sexual innuendo, sexual harassment, and partial nudity.

If edgy humor and that specific tone are not for you, this is a title to skip rather than expect to be toned down.

Price and where to buy

On PC the game costs $29.99 and is sold through its Steam store page. It is a single-player experience with Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, and Family Sharing support, and it is bundled with Low-Budget Repairs in the Millennial Nostalgia: East & West Bundle. On console, the PlayStation 5 version is available now and the Xbox Series X|S version follows on October 2nd, with a physical PS5 edition planned as well.

You will know your version is ready to play when it appears as installable in your platform’s library. On PS5 that is now; on Xbox Series X|S, expect it to become available on its October 2nd launch date.
