AION 2: Furious Feruk Nightmare Boss Guide

Every Furious Feruk attack and how to dodge it, plus the Combat Power and Phantasmal Fragment payout for all 10 stages.

Every Furious Feruk attack and how to dodge it, plus the Combat Power and Phantasmal Fragment payout for all 10 stages.

Furious Feruk, a clawed Cogni boss, awaits in Dranactus Underkeep. It is one of four Common bosses on the first layer of AION 2’s Nightmare mode, a solo boss progression available from level 45. The fight is entirely about dodging: Feruk has no adds or arena puzzle, and attacks only with its claws. Learn to spot its wind-ups, and Combat Power is all that can keep you from advancing through its 10 stages.

Quick answer: Dodge sideways from its red-glowing charges, dodge toward its raised arm on claw swipes, and slip behind it during the in-place flurry to deal damage. Stage 1 asks for 1,000 Combat Power.

Furious Feruk attacks and how to dodge each one

Feruk is slow, and almost everything it does starts with a clear body cue. Most of its attacks also commit it to one direction. You do not need to outrun it. Move off its line at the right moment and stop there.

Claw strikes and Double Slash

Its basic swipes show no ground marker. Watch the arms instead. When Feruk lifts one hand, dodge toward the side of the raised arm, which carries you around the swing rather than into it. A heavier version lands one slash and then charges a second. Do not drop your guard after the first hit, and keep a dodge ready for the follow-up.

Blood Rush (running frenzy)

Feruk turns red, roars, and charges at you with a four-slash combo. It cannot turn once the run starts, so a sideways dodge clears the whole thing. Keep moving away from its path afterward. A hit from this attack applies a bleed debuff.

A healing potion removes the bleed, so drink one right away instead of letting the damage tick.

Dashing Uppercut

Feruk steps back and pulls one arm behind it, then lunges to your position and finishes with a rising claw. It usually does this twice, once with each hand. Check which arm is cocked before you dodge, then step out of its forward path the same way you would for Blood Rush.

Clawing Flurry

This is the in-place version of the frenzy. Feruk rakes the ground with both claws and then unleashes a burst of slashes without moving. Ranged players can just back off. Melee players get more out of dodging through toward the boss and ending up behind it, where you have a short, safe window to land damage while the flurry plays out in front.

Purple floor circles

Purple circular zones appear on the arena floor at intervals during the fight. Step out of them before they resolve, then go back on the attack. A clean stage 1 clear takes under three minutes.

Furious Feruk stages, Combat Power and rewards

Feruk is a tier 1 challenge with 10 stages. The attack patterns do not change from stage to stage. What rises is the recommended Combat Power, and with it the Phantasmal Fragment payout.

Each stage pays its first-clear amount once. Beating the same stage again earns only the smaller repeat amount. Feruk’s Combat Power curve matches the other Common bosses, Gatekeeper Pinopi, Fafnir’s Poison Blood and Wraith Giselle. Progress on the Common bosses is what opens the two Rare bosses that come next.

Nightmare attempts and confirming a clear

Attempts are tracked per character and work on a few simple rules:

  • You get 2 attempts per day.
  • Unused attempts stack up to a cap of 14, and new ones stop accruing once you hit it.
  • An attempt is used only when you defeat the boss. A wipe costs nothing.
  • Attempts start building once your character reaches level 45.

Because a loss is free, a stage above your Combat Power is a safe place to practice Feruk’s dodge timings. You will know a run counted when “Nightmare Dungeon Complete” appears on screen, followed by a results window that shows Furious Feruk, the challenge stage you cleared and your clear time.

Furious Feruk statue for the Pantheon

The Phantasmal Fragments you earn from Feruk can go toward its Pantheon piece. Statue: Furious Feruk is sold in the Nightmare Trade Shop under the Statue tab. It is a Rare statue, and placing it grants a permanent +8 Death (Triniel) and +8 Space (Israphel). The fragments can be spent on other Nightmare Trade Shop stock too, so whether the statue comes first depends on what else your character needs.
