Gatherables are the raw materials that feed almost every production system in AION 2. They turn into potions, meals, weapons, accessories, and progression resources once you funnel them into Crafting or Substance Morph. Knowing which plant, ore, or gem belongs to which profession saves a lot of wasted inventory space.
Quick answer: Gatherables are crafting and cooking materials you pull from world nodes or earn from quests, achievements, and events. Both Crafting and Substance Morph unlock at level 10.

What AION 2 gatherables do
Gatherables have two end points. You either craft them into finished items, or you convert them through Substance Morph. Both mechanics open at character level 10 and are reached from the main menu.
Crafting covers item creation through Blacksmithing, Armorsmithing, Handicrafting, Alchemy, and cooking. Substance Morph has another role: it changes items and materials into progression resources, improved gear, or a more advanced form of the same item. Many basic gatherables name Substance Morph as one of their uses, allowing them to advance to stronger tiers instead of being spent on a recipe.

Add to Google Preferences →Rarity tiers and quality prefixes
Logs, ores, gems, and Odyle all come in four quality grades, and the name prefix tells you the rarity at a glance. A plain name is Common, and each prefix steps the material up a tier.
| Prefix | Rarity | Example |
|---|---|---|
| (none) | Common | Diamond Gemstone |
| Fine | Rare | Fine Diamond Gemstone |
| Pure | Epic | Pure Diamond Gemstone |
| Radiant | Unique | Radiant Diamond Gemstone |
Herbs use a shorter ladder. They appear as a Common base version and a Rare “Fresh” version, such as Aria and Fresh Aria. Cooking ingredients stay at Common only.

Every gatherable material and its use
Materials sort cleanly by the profession they serve. Use this to decide what to keep and what to morph away.
| Material family | Rarity range | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Herbs (Aria, Targena, Azpha, Calendula) | Common–Rare | Alchemy potions |
| Cooking ingredients (Conide, Coriolus, Cypri, Inina, Kukuru, Mela, Morfa, Ohkra, Pujery, Raydam) | Common | Cooking |
| Logs (Yggdrasil, Asvata) | Common–Unique | Bows, staffs, wooden weapons |
| Gemstones (Diamond, Ruby, Sapphire) | Common–Unique | Handicrafted accessories |
| Orichalcum Ore | Common–Unique | Metal weapons and iron |
| Odyle | Common–Unique | Imbuing, Crafting, Substance Morph |
| Yggdrasil Paper / Yggdrasil Wood | Common | Alchemy / Handicrafting (processed) |
Herbs for Alchemy
Aria, Targena, Azpha, and Calendula are herbs used to concoct potions in Alchemy. Each has a Rare “Fresh” version for higher-grade recipes. Aria and Targena are gathered on the Elyos side, while Azpha and Calendula are Asmodian herbs.
Cooking ingredients
Conide, Coriolus, Cypri, Inina, Kukuru, Mela, Morfa, Ohkra, Pujery, and Raydam are all cooking ingredients. These come from fruit, vegetable, and aquatic life nodes, and they can also be fed into Substance Morph if you do not need them for a dish.
Logs for weapons
Yggdrasil Log (Elyos) and Asvata Log (Asmodian) are magic-imbued woods. The base Yggdrasil Log makes wooden weapons in Handicrafting, and the higher tiers go into bows and staffs. Yggdrasil Wood is a processed material made from logs and used in Handicrafting, while Yggdrasil Paper is a Crafting product used in Alchemy.
Gemstones for accessories
Diamond, Ruby, and Sapphire gemstones are infused with valuable gems and used as handicrafting materials for accessories. All three run the full Common to Unique ladder through their Fine, Pure, and Radiant versions.
Orichalcum Ore
Orichalcum Ore is used to craft metal weapons and iron. It progresses through all four grades, with Radiant Orichalcum Ore serving as the resource’s highest-grade, Unique form.
Odyle
Odyle is used to imbue an item with its power and serves as a material for both Crafting and Substance Morph. It is the most broadly sourced material in the game, which matters because you will burn through it steadily as you upgrade gear.

How to get gatherables
Most gatherables come straight from Gathering nodes in the world, and many can also be produced through Substance Morph from lower-tier materials. Odyle has the widest spread of sources.
- Gathering nodes — the main source for herbs, logs, ores, gems, cooking ingredients, and Odyle.
- Substance Morph — rolls base materials into higher-tier versions of the same resource.
- Crafting — produces processed materials such as Yggdrasil Paper and Yggdrasil Wood.
- Quest rewards, Achievements, and the Shugo Festival — grant Odyle in several grades.
- Dimensional Invasion — another source for Odyle and Fine Odyle.
- Growth Support — a source for Radiant Odyle, the Unique grade.
Your faction decides which base materials you gather. Elyos pull Yggdrasil Log, Aria, and Targena, while Asmodian characters gather Asvata Log, Azpha, and Calendula. Plan recipes around what your side can actually collect.
You will know a material is ready to use once you reach level 10 and open the Crafting or Substance Morph menus, where eligible gatherables appear in the ingredient list. From there, it is just a matter of matching each material to the profession it belongs to and keeping a steady supply of Odyle on hand for upgrades.
