The game’s 1,461 skins sorted by slot, 119 armor sets by grade, and how each first copy adds a small stat bonus.

In AION 2, skins alter your appearance and grant modest stat boosts. The first time you acquire a skin, it awards collection points to its corresponding category; each point in that category increases one stat by a set amount. Over time, your wardrobe becomes a source of passive stats. The figures below use global client version 2.0.6.0 hotfix 1 (Steam build 25800038).

Quick answer: AION 2 has 1,461 skins in 21 categories, plus 119 armor sets. Each new skin adds 1 to 5 collection points depending on its grade, and each point adds +0.1% to that category’s stat.

AION 2 skin count by category

Skins are grouped into weapon types, armor slots, two accessory slots, and three purely decorative slots. A category is the unit that collects points. Longsword skins only feed the Longsword bonus, helm skins only feed the Helm bonus, and so on.

Helms have the largest pool. Some appearances come only as headwear, which is why the Helm category runs ahead of the other armor slots. The shoulder, eye, and face accessories are cosmetic only and add nothing to your collection.

13 skins in the current client don’t have artwork yet, so they show up as blank tiles in the collection screen.

How skin collection points turn into stats

Only the first copy of a skin counts. Duplicates add nothing. The number of points a new skin adds depends on its grade.

Skin gradeCollection points
Common1
Rare2
Epic3
Unique4
Heroic5

The math is linear. A new Unique longsword skin adds 4 points to the Longsword category, which works out to +0.4% Longsword Attack. A new Common helm adds 1 point, or +0.1% Helm Defense. Accessory points count twice over, since each necklace or earring point raises both Attack and Defense for that slot.

Skins can also be combined. Combining costs gold and gives a chance at a skin of a higher grade, which is a way to turn unwanted lower-grade pieces into more points.

All 119 AION 2 armor sets by grade

Armor skins are grouped into sets. Most sets have seven pieces, so one complete set adds points to helm, top, shoes, legs, gloves, cloak, and pauldrons in one go. Here is how the 119 sets break down by grade.

AION 2 weapon skins and the weapons behind them

Each weapon skin is named after a look, and each look is tied to a specific weapon line. The same set of looks repeats across greatswords, longswords, daggers, bows, spellbooks, maces, and staves. Golden Legacy, for example, is the look of both the Forgotten and Shade weapons, whichever weapon type you use.

A few weapon lines change names depending on the weapon type. The Orichalcum line is called Asvata on bows and staves and Truth on spellbooks, and the Expert’s and Artisan’s versions follow the same pattern. Kromede weapons appear as a Claymore, Sword, Silver Dagger, Longbow, Spellbook, Warhammer, and Rod. Rupture weapons appear as a Claymore, Sword, Knife, Longbow, Tome, Warhammer, and Rod. The Fantasy, Wisdom, Holy Spirit, Spectral, and Rupture daggers all use the word “Knife.”

Two of these looks are connected to specific content. Cursed Dragonscale belongs to Ludra’s weapons: Ludra’s Blade of Extinction, Ludra’s Scale Sword, Ludra’s Claw, Ludra’s Fatal Bow, Ludra’s Grimoire, Ludra’s Fatal Mace, and Ludra’s Heavenbound Staff. Eternal Ludra is the final boss of Abyssal Forge: Ludra, a level 75 raid for 10 players with a 120-minute time limit and a revive limit of 2. Ring of Light belongs to the Black Claw line. Black Claw weapons drop in Ferocious Horn Den, a party dungeon for 1 to 5 players with level 63 bosses and a 60-minute limit. Earth weapons, which carry the Nameless Master look, are on the same dungeon’s loot table.

Necklace and earring skins

Accessory skins work the same way as weapon skins: each look is tied to a specific base item. Some looks repeat across a base item and its Splendent version. Blue Eye covers both the Ruby and Splendent Ruby necklaces, and Glorious Wings, Gilded Wings, and Sea’s Lament each cover a Dragon Lord necklace and its Splendent version.

The full set of accessory looks is Blue Eye, Unwavering Will, Dawn’s Eye, Moonlit Dew, Fairy Leaf, Nebula Ring, Sky Blossom, Gold Star, Silver Starlight, Aqua Floret, Dark Deluge, Auldor’s Feather, Flame Heart, Nocturnal Melody, Radiant Legacy, Silver Flux, Argent Moon, Sky Orb, Spring’s Promise, Dark Eye, Emerald Grow, Glorious Wings, Gilded Wings, Sea’s Lament, Star Tear, Dusk Grove, Eclipsing Flame, Echo of the Abyss, Gold Flux, Moon Circle, Dewy Forest, Silver Wings, Eternal Feather, Wind Droplet, Temple Guardian, Violet Bead, Eclipse Form, Steel Wings, Eternal Promise, Shadow Jewel, and Shining Melody.

Two connections are worth knowing. Argent Moon is the Fera Necklace look, and the Fera Necklace drops from Watchdog Kwapo and Necromancer Duanka in Ferocious Horn Den at a 3.4% rate. Star Tear is the Berk Necklace look, from the same Berk accessory family that Eternal Ludra drops.

AION 2 emotes

Emotes are a separate cosmetic category. They have no grade and give no collection points. There are eight:

  • Gaze
  • Intrigued
  • Sentimental
  • Ready
  • Doubt
  • Disdain
  • Elegant
  • Calm

To check your progress, open the skin collection and look at each category’s point total. That number times 0.1% is the bonus that category is giving you right now, and it goes up the moment you add a skin you haven’t owned before.
