Aion 2: The Power in the Lake Walkthrough and Rewards

The Power in the Lake is an Episode quest for Elyos players in Poeta, handed out by the Elim Daminu in Daminu Forest. It sends you into Clione Lake Cave to pass a trial set by the Lake Guardian, and completing it awakens your Daeva power and grants your first set of wings. The recommended level is 5, though it can unlock from level 1.

Quick answer: Talk to Daminu in Daminu Forest, enter Clione Lake Cave, dive through the flooded tunnel following the quest beam, defeat the Lake Guardian, then speak to Asahr in the Subspace of Ascension and confirm to finish.

How to unlock The Power in the Lake

You need to finish the previous Episode quest, Withered Tree Daminu, first. That quest ends with you reaching Clione Lake and meeting Daminu, the last surviving Elim guarding the lake. Once it wraps up, Daminu offers The Power in the Lake on the spot.

Accept the quest by selecting the yellow marker above Daminu. In your conversation, he urges you to pursue Ascension again and directs you to the cave behind him.

Clione Lake Cave walkthrough

Walk up to the Clione Lake Cave Entrance next to Daminu and press the interact key to load into the cave. You arrive on a high stone ledge overlooking a deep pool of water.

Drop from the ledge into the deep pool beneath you. Falling causes no damage here, so go straight into the water.

Dive underwater and swim forward through the submerged tunnel. Follow the red quest beam through the coral and plants until the tunnel opens up, then surface and climb onto the rocky path.

Run along the cave trail, following the floating blue motes deeper inside. A mysterious voice speaks as you go, telling you to follow the blue light. Keep on the lit path until you reach the inner lake chamber.

Defeat the Lake Guardian

Entering the crystalline lake chamber triggers a short cutscene and starts the fight with the Lake Guardian, who tells you it will judge whether you are worthy of ascension. The battle takes place in a shallow-water arena.

Watch the water surface for red circular and rectangular ground markers and step out of them before the attacks land. Keep up your damage between dodges to bring the boss down.

Draining a boss’s stagger points will stagger it, opening a window for extra damage. Certain skills deplete stagger faster, so use them on the Lake Guardian when it is available.

Turn in to Asahr and confirm completion

When the Lake Guardian is defeated, it dissolves into water and a cutscene moves you into another dimension. You arrive in the Subspace of Ascension, a space the game describes as a proving ground for your ascension.

Talk to Asahr, which says it is AION’s ego and will guide you through Ascension. Open the turn-in dialogue, then press Confirm to finish the quest.

You know it worked when the reward window closes and the quest clears from your tracker. The follow-up quest, Fledgling Wings, becomes available right after, and you are now able to fly and glide as a true Daeva.

The Lesser Daeva Wings (Bound) are the standout here, since they unlock your first flight wings and set up the gliding and flying lessons that come next in the Poeta questline. Completing this trial marks the point where your character reclaims their Daeva powers and takes the first step toward becoming an Arch Daeva.
