Arcana Training Cards in Aion 2 are easy to misread. They sit in the seasonal shop next to the real Arcana, carry similar names, and cost a stack of Oath Coins — so it is tempting to buy them expecting a card you can equip. They are not that. Each one is an enhancement material you register when upgrading an Arcana card, and that is their only job.

Quick answer: Feed Training Arcana into an equipped Arcana card to add Enhance EXP toward its next level. They let you rank a card up without burning spare cards, and the enhancement never fails.

What Arcana Training Cards do

At level 45, you can equip Arcana, card-based gear, in five positions: Chalice, followed by Parchment; then Compass, Bell, and Mirror. Each card grants one Empyrean Lord stat and a handful of extra levels for your class skills. Enhance a card to increase its grade and item level.

Arcana enhancement fills an experience bar as you register materials on a card. Whenever a level fills, the card gains +1 item level and one of its existing skill lines gains a level at random. Training Arcana are made only to supply this bar: use one for a fixed amount of Enhance EXP instead of consuming a spare Arcana you may want to keep.

Because enhancement cannot fail in Aion 2, every Training card you feed is guaranteed progress. The only question is how much EXP each one is worth against what it costs you.

Training Arcana rarities, EXP and cost

Training Arcana come in escalating tiers. Each higher tier grants more Enhance EXP, and the three sold in the seasonal shop also cost progressively more Oath Coins. All of them require character level 45, stack up to 1,000, and cannot be traded.

To put those numbers in context, a Common Arcana needs 900 EXP to reach its +2 cap, a Rare needs 4,200 to hit +3, an Epic needs 18,000 for +4, and a Unique card needs 93,000 to reach +5. The higher your card’s grade, the more Training Arcana it swallows.

How to use Training Arcana to enhance a card

Open the Arcana menu. Press ESC and select Arcana, or use the Alt+V shortcut to jump straight there.
In the Equip section, choose the Arcana card to enhance. The card you choose is the one that gets upgraded, so select one you intend to keep.
On the right side of the window, register your Training Arcana as the material. You can also drop in spare Arcana cards here if you prefer, but the Training cards are what let you hold those spares back.
Press Enhance to confirm. The EXP bar fills by the amount shown, the card gains item level, and one skill line on it may tick up a level.

You know it worked when the card’s item level rises and its enhancement counter moves — for example a Unique card climbing toward +5. There is no fail chance to roll back, so every confirmed enhance sticks.

Click the % icon at the bottom of the enhance window before you confirm to preview which skill lines a level can land on. That way you are not feeding a card whose skills miss your rotation.

Where to get Arcana Training Cards

The three shop tiers — Lesser, Intermediate and Superior — are stocked in the seasonal shop and bought with Oath Coins. Superior also shows up in attendance rewards. Beyond the shop, Training Arcana turn up across a few routine sources:

  • Seasonal shop (Oath Coins)
  • Coin shop rewards
  • Battle pass tracks
  • Attendance rewards (Superior)

They are not the rarest material in the game, but they do not pile up quickly either, which is why spending them with intent matters more than grabbing every one you see.

When to actually spend them

Training Arcana are only useful once you own Arcana cards worth leveling, and those come from Transcendence dungeons that need around 1,600 item power to enter. If you are not there yet, there is no card to pour EXP into, and the Oath Coins are better spent on crafting materials that raise your gear and item power — or simply banked until you unlock Transcendence.

Once you do have a card, the value of a Training Arcana over a spare card is that it keeps your duplicates free for extraction into Mysterious Crystals, which feed crafting. The call on whether to dump Training cards into an early card or hold them for a cleaner roll is yours. A card at its grade cap keeps gaining stats from further enhancement, so Training Arcana never go to waste on a keeper — they just stop being urgent until you have one.
