Ak’Zeloth Quest Guide – Where to Find Him in WoW Classic

The Ak’Zeloth quest sends Horde players from Durotar into the neighboring Barrens to speak with a single NPC. The confusing part is that the quest sits under Durotar in your log even though the target stands across the zone border, which leads a lot of players in the wrong direction.

Quick answer: Ak’Zeloth stands on the ground at the base of the watchtower at Far Watch Post in The Barrens, near coordinates 62, 20. Cross the Southfury River bridge west of Durotar and talk to him.

Ak’Zeloth quest requirements and rewards

In WoW Classic, Ak’Zeloth is the second step in a short Burning Blade chain. You pick it up from Neeru Fireblade in the Cleft of Shadow in Orgrimmar after finishing the earlier quest in the series, and it leads directly into The Demon Seed.

The only objective is to talk to Ak’Zeloth. There is no combat and nothing to collect, so the whole task is really about reaching the right spot.

How to reach Far Watch Post from Orgrimmar

Speak with Neeru Fireblade in the Cleft of Shadow and accept Ak’Zeloth. The quest text tells you to head to Far Watch Post on the western border of The Barrens.

Open your world map. The quest shows Durotar, but the marker sits west across the border in The Barrens, so plan to travel west rather than staying in Durotar.

From Razor Hill, follow the main road west to the large wooden bridge spanning the Southfury River. Cross it to leave Durotar and enter The Barrens.

Just past the bridge, turn toward the tall wooden watchtower at Far Watch Post. Ak’Zeloth stands on the ground next to the tower’s support pillars near a table of stones, not up on the platforms. If you cannot spot him, circle the base of the tower.

Talk to Ak’Zeloth and click Complete Quest. He hands you the follow-up quest, The Demon Seed, and mentions taking a stone from the table for the next step.

Confirm the quest is complete

You know it worked when the chat log shows “Ak’Zeloth completed” and “Experience gained: 460,” followed by “Quest accepted: The Demon Seed.” Getting the follow-up quest is the clearest sign that the turn-in registered.

Classic and modern versions differ

The location is the same in the modern game, but the details are not. On retail servers the quest is a low-level task offered by Arnak Fireblade, awards 100 XP, and ends the conversation without leading into The Demon Seed. If you are playing current retail and reach Ak’Zeloth with no follow-up, that is intended rather than a bug. The 460 XP reward and the Demon Seed chain belong to the Classic version.
