Akatori hides two kinds of collectibles across its five regions. Cats are spirit pickups that reward area completion, while Bells of Chaos are interactive shrines that unlock new staff and combat abilities in exchange for Chaos points. Tracking them all also feeds a string of Steam achievements, including one tied to a paid souvenir.
Quick answer: Collect all cats in each region to earn that area’s “Spirits” achievement, activate every Bell of Chaos to bank its ability, and buy the Amber Globe from the Amber Plant merchant for 5000 shards. Grab the first Akatori Monastery cat during your initial pass, because it becomes unreachable later.

The one missable cat and how backtracking works
Most collectibles stay put, so you can return for them once you have the right skills. Several cats and bells sit behind abilities you unlock later, which means a full clear usually involves revisiting earlier regions with better mobility.
The exception is Cat 1/2 in the Akatori Monastery, “Gotta Take a Break.” You have to pick it up on your first trip through the area. Miss it and there is no way back, so it will not appear in your completed count. Everything else can wait.

| Collectible | Name | Where to find it |
|---|---|---|
| Cat 1/2 | Gotta Take a Break | Double-jump up the rocky path, then drop down into a hidden cave. Missable on first pass. |

Clearing both unlocks the Akatori Monastery Spirits achievement.

All five cats award Spirits in the Amber Castle. The single bell here grants the Dodge and Counterattack move, which is worth banking early for the fights ahead.

Amber Plant cats, Bells of Chaos, and the Amber Globe
| Collectible | Name | Where to find it |
|---|---|---|
| Amber Globe | Souvenir | Buy from the merchant for 5000 shards. |
| Bell 1/2 | Staff Return and Strike | Interact with the bell to unlock the ability. |
| Cat 1/5 | Escape | Break the wall on the left, drop down, and grab it. |
| Cat 2/5 | Civil Defense Memo | Cross the falling platforms and hazards. |
| Cat 3/5 | Life of a Merchant | Ride the moving platforms and climb to a high ledge. |
| Cat 4/5 | Inner Chaos | Climb the waterfall and jump across the platforms. |
| Bell 2/2 | Health Boost | Interact with the bell to unlock the upgrade. |
| Cat 5/5 | The Imperial Academic Society | Ride the moving platforms and climb to reach the final cat. |
All five cats deliver Spirits in the Amber Plant. The Health Boost bell is a permanent upgrade rather than a move, so prioritize the Chaos points for it if you are pushing through tougher fights.
The Amber Globe is a one-off souvenir sold by the Amber Plant merchant. Its only purpose is the A Gift for a Daughter achievement, so spend the 5000 shards whenever you have them to spare.
How Bells of Chaos work
Each Bell of Chaos is a shrine you interact with directly. Activating one spends Chaos points to permanently unlock the listed ability or upgrade. Across the game they hand you Dodge and Counterattack, Rapid Attacks, Enemy Pull, Deflect, Shockwave, Staff Return and Strike, plus the Health Boost upgrade.
You confirm a bell worked when the ability is added to your kit right after interacting. Some later collectibles depend on movement skills unlocked this way, which is another reason to revisit earlier regions once your toolset grows.

Every collectible achievement
Full completion pops eight achievements. The region “Spirits” awards fire once you gather every cat in that area, while Trial Apprentice and Trial Master track bell progress. A Gift for a Daughter is the Amber Globe purchase.
- Akatori Monastery Spirits
- Trial Apprentice
- Spirits in the Amber Castle
- Spirits in the Amber Mines
- Spirits in the Amber Forest
- A Gift for a Daughter
- Trial Master
- Spirits in the Amber Plant
If your total comes up one cat short with no obvious gap, check the Akatori Monastery. A missed “Gotta Take a Break” during the opening run is the single most common reason a save cannot reach full completion. Every other cat, bell, and the Amber Globe can be secured on a return trip once you have the abilities to reach them.
