Akatori: Every Amber Mines Collectible Location (Cats and Bells of Chaos)

Where to find all four hidden cats and both Bells of Chaos, plus the abilities and achievement they unlock.

Where to find all four hidden cats and both Bells of Chaos, plus the abilities and achievement they unlock.

The Amber Mines region in Akatori holds six collectibles worth tracking down. Four are hidden cats, and two are Bells of Chaos that grant new staff abilities. Gathering every cat completes the region’s spirit set, while each bell adds a combat tool you can use for the rest of the run.

Quick answer: Collect all four cats (Makiwara, The Great Festival, Animal Escape, No Discounts) to unlock the “Spirits in the Amber Mines” achievement, and ring both Bells of Chaos to unlock the Rapid Attacks and Enemy Pull abilities.

Where to find the four cats

The cats are the spirits that count toward the region achievement. Two sit at the end of platforming and puzzle routes, and the other two are hidden underwater.

Reach the first cat, Makiwara, by following the platforming path marked on the Amber Mines map. This is the earliest of the four and does not require underwater travel.

Find the second cat, The Great Festival, by solving the puzzle path leading to its room. Work through the mechanism to open the way in and claim it.
Collect the third cat, Animal Escape, through an underwater section. Navigate the flooded passage to reach it.
Grab the final cat, No Discounts, at the end of a deep underwater path. This is the last spirit in the region, and picking it up completes the set.

Where to find both Bells of Chaos

The Bells of Chaos are separate from the cats and do not count toward the achievement. Ringing one lets you spend Chaos to unlock its ability, so keep enough Chaos on hand.

Reach the first Bell of Chaos and interact with it to unlock Rapid Attacks. This ability lets Mako perform three quick attacks immediately after a dodge.
Head to the second Bell of Chaos at the end of a platforming route to unlock Enemy Pull. This lets you throw the staff through an enemy and drag it back toward you.

Note: The first bell also ties to a task that asks you to defeat enemies to finish unlocking Rapid Attacks, so use the ability in combat after spending your Chaos.

How to confirm the region is complete

Each cat shows a “Collection Updated” prompt when you pick it up, so you can track your count as you go. After the fourth cat, No Discounts, the game unlocks the “Spirits in the Amber Mines” achievement with the description “Collect all Akatori spirits in the Amber Mines.”

For the bells, you will see a “Spend Chaos to unlock” prompt at each one. Once you confirm the spend, Rapid Attacks and Enemy Pull become available in your ability set. If a bell does not grant its power, you likely have not spent Chaos on it yet, and Rapid Attacks additionally needs you to defeat enemies to finish its task.

With all four cats collected and both bells rung, the Amber Mines is fully cleared of its spirits and its two ability rewards, leaving nothing else to find in the region.
