Alpha Tubster is one of the first field bosses most players run into in Aniimo, and it is a deceptively annoying one. It is a level 25 Wind Alpha parked on the coastline of The Argent Strait, and the whole fight hinges on a single mechanic: a huge shield that goes up mid-fight while the boss charges a wind attack and drags you toward it.

Quick answer: Alpha Tubster sits on a shore southwest of First Spark Sanctum in The Argent Strait. Bring Lightning or Light damage, and strip its shield before the charge finishes.

Alpha Tubster element weaknesses and resistances

Alpha Tubster is a Wind boss, so the element math is simple. Lightning and Light both hit for 1.6x, while Wind and Dark are cut down to 0.625x. Everything else lands at neutral damage.

Attacking elementDamage multiplier
Lightning1.6x
Light1.6x
Fire, Water, Grass, Ice, Earth1x
Wind0.625x
Dark0.625x

That 0.625x on Wind is the trap. If your team is stacked with the Wind Aniimo you have been catching around Breezy Plains, your damage will feel dreadful and the shield phase will outlast you.

Alpha Tubster location in The Argent Strait

The boss guards a fixed spot in The Argent Strait, the starting area of Breezy Plains. Head southwest of First Spark Sanctum and look for the middle of the shore below the cliffs. Warping to the nearest transporter and walking in from there is the fastest approach.

Bring a flying Aniimo before you drop off the cliff edge toward the beach. Gliding or flying down avoids the fall damage you would otherwise eat right before the fight starts.

If you wipe or wander off, you do not need to wait around. Alpha Tubster has a respawn interval of 20 seconds, so a second attempt is always close.

How to beat Alpha Tubster and break its shield

The fight is a loop. Alpha Tubster moves around and trades hits normally, then stops dead, gains a large shield, and begins charging. During that charge you get pulled toward it, so running is only a partial escape.

Open with your Lightning or Light damage and keep your break pressure available. You want skills off cooldown when the shield appears, not dumped into a boss that is still mobile.
The moment it freezes and the shield goes up, throw everything at the shield. Skills and attacks both chip it, and clearing the shield before the charge completes weakens the boss and cancels the payoff.
If the shield is still standing as the charge finishes, stop attacking and sprint. Putting distance between you and the boss is the only way to dodge the wind damage that lands at the end of the charge.

Repeat that cycle. Every shield phase you break is a chunk of damage you do not take, and a boss that is easier to burn down on the next pass.

Best Aniimo to bring against Alpha Tubster

Since shield removal decides the fight, a dedicated Breaker matters as much as raw damage here. Pair Lightning or Light attackers with a Breaker that shares the same super-effective element.

RoleAniimoElement
DPSFulmintisLightning
DPSFenmaneLightning
DPSFentuftLightning
BreakerBlazenLightning
BreakerBoltyLightning
SupportTromberWind
SupportLuminelleLightning
SupportEklueWind

Fulmintis and Fenmane are the hardest-hitting picks, but neither is easy to obtain early. Blazen is the standout Breaker for this fight and is realistically reachable at this point in the game.

The Wind supports look like a contradiction, but they are there for survival, not damage. Tromber and Eklue resist Alpha Tubster’s Wind attacks and are weak to nothing it throws out, which makes them safe bodies to keep on the field.

If you are working with what a fresh account can actually field, a team of Fentuft, Blazen, Eklue, and Fenmane covers damage, break, and support. Its weak point is healing, so expect to play the charge phase carefully rather than tank through it.

Alpha Tubster rewards and material drops

You will know the clear registered when the first-time reward screen pops with the Breezy Plains haul. The Lumin Amber in particular is worth the trip, since those feed directly into upgrading Branches around the region.

Repeat kills only pay out Breezy Plains Dewdrop Crystals, so farm it for the crystals and nothing else once the first clear is banked.

Can you catch Alpha Tubster?

Not with the Aniipods you have been throwing at wild spawns. Boss Aniimo ignore standard Aniipods entirely. Alpha Aniimo can be captured with an Aniipod Ultra, which pays out substantial rewards when it lands.

If you only want the species, skip the boss version. Regular Tubster spawns in The Argent Strait as well, and a wild catch is far less work than an Alpha capture.

After the win: Unlocking the Chirpi to Tubster evolution

The real payoff is not in the reward table. Defeating Alpha Tubster is what unlocks the Chirpi to Tubster evolution path, so this fight is a hard gate for anyone raising a Chirpi.

  • Unlock condition: defeat Alpha Tubster
  • Chirpi must be at least Lv. 18
  • BREAK Potential of 6 or higher
  • Cost: Gust Stone x3

As a Nova-stage Wind Aniimo assigned to the Break role, Tubster performs very well. While shielded, its Victory Concerto trait boosts BREAK efficiency by 40%; when BREAK occurs, the entire team’s stamina cost drops by 30%.

Its signature skill, Resting Whirlwind, fires two arcing whirlwinds that pull targets along their paths and explode for AoE damage when they meet. It costs 15 EP, has a power value of 48, and runs on a 1-second cooldown, which makes it easy to keep rolling in longer fights.

So the loop is straightforward. Clear the shield, stay out of the wind, take the Lumin Amber, and walk away with an evolution path that turns one of Breezy Plains’ earliest catches into a top-tier Breaker.
